"What a beautifully unique place to stay! We were in the Gamekeeper's bothy and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was clean and spacious and the wood stove kept us plenty warm! We never saw any red squirrels but I did see a beautiful jay that was so different from the blue jays we have in the US. I would stay here again in a minute!"

"Our 9-night stay in Scotland was incredibly relaxing and comfortable. "The small village of Tarland is very quiet, so we were surprised at just how good the Commercial Hotel is. I understand that a lot of walkers & cyclists use the hotel and I'm not surprised, as it is in beautiful surroundings and only 5 miles from Aboyne. We received a very pleasant welcome, and our room was large, beautifully furnished and very quiet. Whilst we stayed for 2 nights, circumstances meant we only had breakfast although on our last evening, we saw that the restaurant was quite popular. Breakfast was special with a large choice of cook to order food and lots of tea or coffee. We will stay here again and recommend it to any one looking for a nice hotel in the area."
