"Modern hotel within walking distance from the town centre . You are greeted on arrival by a glass of wine, which is a nice touch. The rooms are spacious, clean, and with a decent size wardrobe, plus a fridge and a desk. Pool view rooms have a balcony, which also get the sun. Breakfast is very good, with a good selection of hot and cold food There is a gentleman playing the piano each morning. There is also sparkling wine available. The only downside is that it's quite noisy, especially if the hotel is busy, with no soft furnishings to absorb the sound. The two pools are nice but the water was cold on our visit (May). There is a pool bar for drinks, and more than enough sun loungers. A downside is that the bar plays music all day which I think is too loud, and not to everyone's taste. My idea of a relaxing time by the pool is not necessarily listening to someone else's choice of music. I think this is something that that hotel should look to. You don't really need music at all by the pool in my opinion. There is a rooftop bar which has indoor and outdoor seating, and has live music some nights, and a DJ at other times, starting from 20:30. The Spa is a waste of time, the pool is only 3m by 10m, the steam room was out of order, and the sauna was under repair. I was in and out in 5 minutes! There is a €10 deposit for pool towels. Note that from 7th May the hotel have introduced a no cash policy for all bar and restaurant payments. "

"Staff were friendly and helpful. Great room on the ground floor with outside pool access. I had an issue with the door lock - it was addressed and fixed immediately. The outside pool is not heated - I didn’t care, but some people might. Breakfast was included and had extensive choices. The hotel is a very short walk (along the river side) to the town center. Well located, well maintained and friendly staff"

"Lovely spot. The only thing that was disappointing was the coffee on the breakfast buffet. The buffet was very decent, but the coffee is terrible. It tastes like instant coffee."

"Fab breakfast, very clean hotel which looks to have been recently refurbished. Very helpful staff, although we didnt have much contact with them. The pool looked lovely but we didnt use it as the road noise wouldnt have been very relaxing. We found the location difficult as we like to walk everywhere, but the hotel is on a busy road that is difficult to cross and there is no safe way to walk into town. Staff did advise us to use ubers, which we did, but at €4 each way, twice a day, it made the "cheap hotel " a more expensive option than some of the alternatives in the town that had been available. There is soundproofing in the rooms, which was very effective, but our balcony was not pleasant to sit on due to the road noise which was disappointing. We stayed for 5 nights in May. A perfect stop over hotel if you have a car and are juat doing a couple of nights maximum. "

"A lovely hotel on the river front, within walking distance of shops, bars & restaurants. The staff went above & beyond to help us. We had a balcony room overlooking the street, it was super quiet. The breakfast was good. The Mares bistro downstairs is good & guests get 15% discount on food. We will return."

Set within a converted tuna-fishing village, it blends history, space, and a relaxed Algarve atmosphere beautifully. The setting is a real highlight. Built from a restored fishing settlement, the hotel feels like a small village rather than a typical block-style resort. It’s quiet, spacious, and surrounded by the stunning Ria Formosa, making it perfect if you’re looking to switch off and unwind. There’s easy access to the local beach, and the boat transfer directly from the hotel to Tavira Island (for a small fee) is a real standout feature. Facilities are solid, with pools, a spa, bars, and a good restaurant serving local Algarve dishes. The on-site museum and preserved buildings add an extra layer of interest and authenticity. Staff are excellent throughout, and the rooms are clean and well maintained. Breakfast offers a wide selection, although it can feel a little repetitive over longer stays. The only real trade-off is the location. It’s not in Tavira town centre, which is great for peace and quiet, but you’ll need to rely on taxis, Uber, or a short drive to get into town."

"This property and entire experience was excellent. The staff at the hotel and restaurant are really extraordinarily good. The food was excellent both for breakfast and at the restaurant. The pool is beautiful and people were using it while we were there even though it was mid April and lovely warm. This is a wonderful find and we look forward to going back. The grounds are beautifully maintained and there is a farm animal area to visit which is lovely and fun!"

"Michelle was a lovely host, easy to communcate with and has a great apartment. The location was quiet and in a location that was easy to get around to other locations. Parking fantastic, rooftop patio was amazing to share wine and sit under the stars. The apartment had whatever you needed to cook a meal if you wanted, and was spacious and tidy. We loved it there!!!!!"
