Great 2 night stay, staff very helpful, stay again
We stayed at the water Rat for a family wedding, we had a wonderful 2 nights stay, the staff were very friendly and very helpful, the room was excellent and had a gorgeous meal on our first nights stay, would definitely have a return visit if we were in that area.

Room we were in decent size, unfortunately Shower out of order...First place ive stayed with a non working shower...also bedside lighting didn't work...otherwise quiet and a decent sleep..Breakfast was nice.
The family room was perfect, two separate rooms adjoined by a little corridor. The food was great, very tasty and good portion size! Staff very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend!
Lovely room. Very comfortable bed and all very clean. Little bit more attention needed under toilet rim. Great breakfast and location. Sadly shower was a nightmare. It banged constantly (even woke up next door!) and the water pressure was awful which is the only reason for my rating.
A very pleasant, comfortable B&B. Ground floor room was spacious & well furnished but somewhat noisy from the main front door & the guests in the above room. Floors could do with sound proofing fitted. Good breakfast provided & other meals available at the attached pub. Staff were very pleasant & helpful for the most part.
Young waitress appeared unpleasant however breakfast lady can not do enough for you. Reasonably priced food and stay. Overall comfy ans cosy stay. Will come again when in area.
Just had a brilliant overnight stay here. The staff were outstanding, the restaurant is charming and food was simply excellent. Great value too. Accommodation is in a separate house next door, a 25 yard or so walk from the main building. We were in room 1 facing on to the main road. You could hear the occasional car but it was never a problem. The room and the hall have clearly recently been refurbished to a very good standard, it was well heated and there is a big shower cubicle in the en-suite. Large TV, good WiFi and tea/coffee facilities complete the package. Fresh milk available in a fridge in the hallway. We had a DB&B package and how nice to not have restrictions on certain dishes - choose anything for all 3 courses. Breakfast quality was also excellent, using top quality produce (as evidenced by a local delivery of fresh mushrooms just as we were eating breakfast). Highly recommended.
Fabulous place to stay, we booked into room 4 which is a very big room with a lovely big shower room. It has the biggest TV I have ever seen in a hotel room. The room looks over the gardens and the river with a riverside walk into Ironbridge. The food is very good. Breakfast is a full English with a selection of cereal, yogurt, tea and coffee. We stayed 2 nights and ate in the restaurant on both evenings, we tried different foods from the menu all very good. I can highly recommend the beer batter cod and chips. All the staff are lovely, friendly and helpful. I would recommend you give the Water Rat a visit. We stayed in November, the room was lovely and warm. I think it would be great and even better during the summer with all the great things to do in the area.
The Water Rat was on the main road only minutes from Ironbridge, yet it still managed to be a peaceful retreat.
Staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was actually in the adjoining building and was accessed by quite steep stairs. Well worth it though as it was lovely and spacious with a comfortable double bed and lots of room.
There was a river walk into Ironbridge that was accessed via the gardens and took less than 10 minutes to reach the town.
Excellent room and restaurant with a good selection of beer (for me) and cider (for my wife). Location to Ironbridge superb with a pleasant walk along the riverside from the Water Rat car park. Room was clean and well appointed and restaurant staff very accommodating. Full English breakfast a welcome bonus and cooked to perfection. All in all a very happy time was had. Would return in a heartbeat.
Excellent stay, all areas immaculate and extremely friendly and helpful staff. Bedroom was small but well presented and quirky with bathroom in loft space above bedroom, lovely and clean with nice toiletries and all area’s beautifully decorated. Would definitely stay again.
We stayed 2 nights, I had found this suggestion online and I’m a glad I did. Huge rooms with high ceilings were such a bonus, the rooms had been through a recent upgrade and you could tell, there was a king bed, seating area, 50 inch tv, makeup area and huge wardrobe to hang our event clothes in to stop creasing. And the shower was a personal highlight for me, huge walk in shower with lovely soft water and a really powerful rainfall or handheld shower dependent on which you prefer.
There was also a really lovely touch of fresh, chilled water and milk stored in a fridge outside the room available at any time. On a warm evening it was really appreciated to be able to go and grab some water whenever.
The staff at the inn were lovely and friendly, helped with anything we needed and organised a taxi for us to our event, taking away a stress we’d been having
The entire stay was relaxing but went way too quickly, I’d happily stay again and would suggest others do the same
The room was in an adjacent building for the use of guests only. There was fresh milk and bottled water (recyclable) in a fridge in the lobby for the guests to take to their room which was much nicer than little cartons of milk ( which were also in the room). The service in the dining area of the pub was quite quick, considering there was a function being held on the night we stayed. The food was pleasant although the portions were quite small. The selection of non alcoholic drinks could be improved, as the vegetarian options could be greater also. The room was large , overlooking the garden and car park, very clean and comfortable with a large tv! Breakfast was very fresh and plenty of choices, even though there was only one person serving, she was very cheerful and efficient. We would definitely stay again, as the garden led to a riverside walk into Ironbridge, only half a mile away. I would recommend the Water Rat for a relaxing stay.
Great place to stay if your visiting Iron Bridge. Room & ensuite were excellent. Breakfast was good and service from staff couldn't be faulted. Will definitely be staying here again in the future.
Wonderful place to stay. Very friendly helpful staff, room was clean, bed was really comfortable and breakfast was great under current new arrangements. Overall great place everyone working very hard to make your stay as great as possible
