We arrived in Sicily and drove to meet Josephine on time as per contract. Josephine showed us around the apartment. The first thing that we noticed was the damp smell in the kitchen, however, at first we disregarded this on the basis that it may have just needed airing out. Then, we noticed that the fridge was rusty and looked unclean on the inside. We were also told that the food inside was bought for the children, but on speculation, this was probably from a previous guest as there was a beer in there. We also had a demonstration of the cooker, and although we were shown how to put the gas on, the gas didn’t ignite. There was no attempt to try and problem solve this, but just to shrug it off and continue with the tour. At the time, we didn’t think much of this until we tried to get it working ourselves to no avail.
Following this, we saw the swimming pool, as the little girl who was with us has been very excited about this. The pool was murky, green and full of debris as shown on the pictures attached to this email. Josephine explained that it had been raining, and that Nick would come round tomorrow (Sunday) to clear it. This
