"Upon arrival, we were told to open the large gates leading up to the driveway of the house. The gates were what I can only describe as something you would see at a 'haunted' house in really poor condition. Our first impressions were not great as the accommodation appeared very old and run down. As we approached the house, the ground were extremely unkempt: overgrown, unclean pool and the tennis court area had seen better days. As we opened the main door, we noticed the wallpaper in the hallway...

"The communication was difficult - the owner did phone once, but we were cut off. The property is untidy, pool is green and tennis court has had no use for years. Offered extra rooms, after the sleeping arrangements were terrible, we were then threatened to be billed extra to VRBO, somehow... The rooms had uncomfortable beds and barely a sheet on them, and towels were hard and ancient. Two cots were inadequate for adult use and the room had massive cobwebs everywhere. Breakfast was scant and...

"The website said that the location was "Behind the Maire in Savigny". We came off the A89 to head south to Savigny. After traversing many farm tracks and minor roads eventually ending up at Savigny. We could not find the address there behind the Mārie and in desperation rang Madame Boisel for directions from the centre of Savigny. "Gave us the top floor, climbing that spiral stairs was a work out! Besides that location was good, close to port, transportation and restaurant. Public parking expensive if you have car. I would stay here again, but only if I get a first floor room."
