"Great place! Whole family (including our dog) enjoyed our stay in Canaan. Turning off the hwy onto a quiet road, and then onto a quieter road to the house, set us up wonderfully for a relaxing weekend. Went on a couple longer hikes, saw Blackwater Falls, s'mores at the fire ring (terrific setup), and a very well stocked kitchen (big deal when we rent) all helped make the weekend a success. Used the grill (brand new Weber!) and had wifi/connectivity as much as we wanted (not much please!). ...

"Stayed from Sunday-Wednesday, mid-September. We had a great time. Beautiful view of the lake from the backyard with lots of sitting areas available. It was a bummer that the water level was so low, but that’s nature for you! The area is so quiet. We were def able to relax and chill"

"The house was great with the amenities such as large size beds, pool table, darts, fire pit. The gas grill was broken and we planned our meals around it. But the management company contacted use very quickly. The house could use some detail cleaned found dust and webs in corners, vents stain on ceiling from microwave. Overall the house meant our needs"

"The Stonehouse was perfect for our boys trip/Father son weekend. The house comfortably fit 8 of us and had enough bathrooms to gets us ready without a log jam. The kitchen was well equipped and we made some awesome meals. We loved sitting out by the fire pit. Check in process was easy with great communication by the owners. We would definitely stay here again."

"Overall the experience was good… it was out first time at this property and we go to Deep Creek at least 2 times a year. Some of the amenities need updated…. The foose ball was broken. The air hockey table was broke. And no useable pool sticks for either pool table. The mixer in the kitchen did not work. The dryer would not dry out clothes until my husband pulled it out and cleaned the vent hose. The back deck was so dirty and overgrown we had to sweep the dirt and moss off it to keep from...

"We enjoyed our stay at the Birdhouse Lodge. It was quiet, cozy and had a great view of nature. The road to get there was steep and bumpy but my Prius handled it (in June, no snow). The main bed was too soft, but without the foam topper it was just right for us. The listing is accurate except that there are now FOUR TVs and nice chairs around the firepit. If you plan to cook, bring a few things (hot mitts, aluminum foil, etc). Other reviews are right about the extremely low water pressure. That...
