Malmaison York

"We recently stayed at Malmaison York and overall had a pleasant experience. The room was lovely and the bed was extremely comfortable, making for a good night’s sleep. We were given an upgrade, which was appreciated, although it wasn’t something we particularly needed. One thing to note is that both the rooms and corridors felt quite dark, which may not suit everyone’s taste. The on-site Starbucks was a great addition and very convenient during our stay. The main downside was the price. While the hotel was comfortable and stylish, it felt quite expensive considering there were no extras included. Overall, a good stay, but the value for money could be improved."

"This hotel never let's us down. A wonderful experience with a barbecue night and World Cup football! Our favourite hotel in York by far. (We've stayed many times) Hotel staff are wonderful and make your stay very special. Room was very clean and spacious. Facilities were great too. Thankyou all at the Novotel York."

"My wife and I stayed for one night in a Standard Room with 1 King Bed and had a great experience overall. The hotel's location is excellent, making it easy to walk to York city centre, The Shambles, York Minster, the city walls and many other attractions. There are also plenty of restaurants, cafés, pubs, and international dining options nearby. Our room was clean, tidy, and spacious enough for a couple. We particularly liked the framed artwork and decorations, which gave the room a unique character. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was spotless, with useful features such as a heated towel rail. The room was well equipped with thoughtful amenities including tea and coffee facilities, complimentary water, snacks, bathrobes, slippers, Wi-Fi, an iron and ironing board, a safe, and a mini fridge. Everything we needed for a comfortable stay was provided. The hotel was quiet throughout our stay, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We felt it offered very good value for money considering the location, quality of the room, and overall experience. The only downside was the television. It was not connected to the internet and only offered a limited selection of traditional TV channels. Having access to streaming services or smart TV functionality would have improved our stay, especially in the evening after returning from exploring the city. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return on a future visit to York. Rating: 4.9/5"

"The location is excellent. The hotel is generally nice but if you look closely is a bit grubby in places -skirtings, behind the doors and daily room service. The shower was over a bath and it was very deep which made it difficult to get in and out. There was an aircon unit which was so noisy it couldn't be used. Breakfast was good and overall we had a good stay."
