"The gentleman that checked us in was great. He was very helpful with questions we had about the area, made sure we had our ferry tickets and assisted with the dinner service. The young gentlemen who assisted at dinner were very polite and knowledgeable about the menu. One thing that we would have liked was wash clothes. We would recommend staying here."

"The hotel car park has a skip full to overflowing, and this, as well as disused furniture and scrap metal reduced the hotel parking, on an island where parking spaces are hard to find. We were not given the code to the fire door but were lucky enough to meet another couple of guests who did and let us in. "Elegantly appointed, well-kept B&B with spacious rooms and high ceilings pleasantly located in Castletown close to a good beach, Castle of Mey, John O'Groats and Thurso. A converted bank house dating back to the early 1900s, it has tasteful decor, an elegant sweeping staircase and is serenely managed by the lady owner who is very pleasant and provides a good breakfast. Good value, really enjoyed our stay. "
