The Old Bathing Place, River Avon. According to a nearby sign this widening of the River Avon has long been an aquatic playground for natives (of Stratford-upon-Avon) and visitors alike. In the mid 1930s diving boards, a chute, changing huts and a floating safety boom were installed. Bathing suits were offer for hire (wholesale gentlemen's £1:6:0d (£1.30) per dozen and ladies' £1:12:6d (£1.625)). Those facilities survived the war but in the 1950s whispers of polio brought about their demise.

Wifi very poor. Poor selection of biscuits when the clubhouse is so remote and closed on an evening. Breakfast expensive for 1 sausage, 1 poached egg and two fatty rations of bacon and 1/2 a tomato & 1 slice of toast with no marmalade or butter.
