The International Wolf Center and North American Bear Centers are less than an hour away in Ely and there is another bear sanctuary a short drive from the cabin.We highly recommend it!"

"Our August family summer vacation on Strand Island was perfect. Large cabin with many rooms for the large group we had. Plenty of space inside, the wrap around porch was absolutely perfect for games and the kids loved the swinging beds. We made use of the large outside field area and had many competitive games of wiffle ball. The swimming area was great, and the kayaks were used daily. The views and sunsets were amazing. We definitely recommend Strand Island for a large group get away."
