Great location, facility had everything you could need, friendly to solo travelers, easy to walk to downtown Shinjuku or access the train station in a 5 minute walk. Staff friendly and helpful.

I think what makes this a good hostel is the location and its well known. It was clean and close to everything you want to do. Good place to meet travelers, walking tour Saturday and a decent happy hour. Its right next to seven eleven so a lot of people grab drinks there and bring them back to the hostel. I didnt feel like the staff was real very or had anything else keep the environment social.

Worst experience ever. Tye capsule rooms were like rat holes, in which you could only crawl. When I booked the room, it had pictures of 4 small horizontal cubicles. What I got was over 14 such cubicles. People had their shoes and dirty socks at the mouth of the cubicle. Warning to one and all: Dont throw your hard earned money with Uplan Hostel.
