Huberto was a wonderful host and was extremely helpful finding an English guide for my trip to Vale de Bravo and an extremely reliable taxi service. Anything I had an issue with in the apartment was sorted out immediatelyThe apartment was excellent, and the views to the lake were outstanding. The only issue I felt was the swimming pool which I paid to be heated at the weekends but it appeared that everyone at the shared pool had the benefit. Also there should be more sunloungers and parasols available around the pool.
My son and I had a great time visiting & exploring the area of Valle de Bravo & Avandaro for a long weekend. It's dreamy & quiet during the week, and heats up with lots of activity on Friday/Saturday. We enjoyed fishing, hiking, and of course eating and shopping. The house is gorgeous, well-appointed, comfortable. Be aware that it is NOT close to the center of Valle de Bravo - Avandaro is a different town and you will need to drive or take a taxi to get to Valle de Bravo. (I did not understand that when we booked.) The town of Avandaro does have its own center, which we did not visit. The neighborhood felt very sleepy on Thursday, but Friday and Saturday night there were parties close by. This is a weekend getaway area, so be prepared for some party sounds. One thing you can walk to (if you don't mind the very busy road & slim sidewalk) is the cascada Piedra del Molino. There's a lovely trail you can hike and a couple of restaurants and shops right there (you can also catch a taxi there, or just beforehand at the triangle with the fountain.) Huberto was an attentive and responsive host. I do recommend that you ask for a garrafon of water to be supplied in advance so that you don't have to schlepp water yourself every day.
