Classic Knotty Pine two bedroom cabin 25 feet from Somo Lake. Cabin comes with complete kitchen stove, fridge, microwave, coffee make, toaster. 2 bedrooms makes room for up to 5 guests. Outside is 400 feet of private shoreline frontage and a pier for your boat, to swim, fish off of or watch the sunset. Private boat ramp on property. Excellent fishing including musky, walleye, crappie, bluegils. Enjoy a campfire/roast marshmallows in the fire pit. Enjoy a picnic lunch outside on the patio. ATV and snowmobile trail is connected to property. Hunting nearby. Perfect for many occasions: family vacation, couples getaway, quiet relaxing, beautiful Northwoods area.
Wildlife in the area include deer, fox, loons, bear, turkeys, and bald eagles.
Water skier paradise, slalom, barefoot, wakeboard, trick, tube, kneeboard.
Fall colors, winery tours,, Ice fishing, snow skiing and snow boarding at Granite Peak/Rib Mountain in Wausau.
Cabin #1 shares a wall with another cabin. There is an interior door with locks on each side connecting the two cabins. Each cabin has its own outside entrance, kitchen bath and bedroom. There is no shared space between the two.

Hunting trip

It was snug for more than a couple of folks and gear but sufficed for a place to overnight. Parking was easy to get in and out with a trailer and location was convenient to town. Host was promptly responsive to inquiries. Nice setting on the lake.

Greatest Family Vacation Spot

We loved every min of our vacation. Perfect in every way. Grandparents, parents, almost 3 year old and a dog. We enjoyed the fire pit, grilling, kayaking, tons of yard space for games, fishing on the dock and more. We brought our boat and it was so convenient. Lou was very inviting and helpful throughout our whole stay. We will be back next year for sure. Thank you Lou and Colleen for making the best vacation for our family.

Clean and cozy. Owner is friendly and responsive. Close to the water, great fishing off the dock for kids. Loved the fire pit and that we could bring our dog. Kitchen is small, but who cooks? We grilled most of the time.Everyone had so much fun!!!
We loved being so close to the water. We could sit and talk and watch the kids fish off the dock and have fun with the paddle boat.

Cute lakeside cabin

We enjoyed our time on Somo lake, the paddle boat was also a lot of fun. This was our first real trip with our 8 month old puppy, cabin 1 was ideal for a dog and she learned to swim as well. Huge bonus was the water was clean so Echo didn’t require a bath. Good experience!

Perfect just what the doctor ordered

The cabin is great. Completely renovated inside with a brand new dock. Perfect for a small family. Great view of the lake from a big bay window. Owners were quite accommodating. Will stay here again, centrally located for many fine bars and restaurants

Summer relaxation

We rented a boat from the local boat rental place in Tomahawk. They delivered the boat and we enjoyed fishing on the lake, cooking our meals at the cabin, and moonlight campfires every evening. The sunsets on the lake were beautiful. I hope to return again.

Relaxing and Cozy

Amazing place to stay, had so much fun. I recommend kayaking in the morning when the lake is quiet and no one is out, we saw deer and even an eagle. So much wildlife to be seen. There is also a place to eat not even 200 yards away, you are right on the dock and there is an amazing fire pit to have a fire in. The owner of the cabin is so nice, and was ready if we needed anything. We plan on coming back very soon.

Beautiful Lake and Nice Cabin

If you are looking for a reasonably priced cabin, this is the way to go. The House is modern and the other cabins a bit more rustic, but nice and clean. Lou couldn't be any nicer. All have a beautiful view of the lake. We enjoyed fishing, grilling, firepit, and watching / listening to the Loons. And of course, just staring at Lake Somo. Thanks for the great Long Weekend!

Weekend getaway

This place was smelly the pillows and blankets had a terrible smell to them! The couch was all matted and smelly ans we wouldn't even sit on it! We had no towels but the owner told us to go get them in his storage but we didn't as the place was just too dirty for us to stay in! The worst part about this as it was our anniversary Weekend getaway that we traveled 3 hours to get here thinking it was going to be a wonderful place and it was definitely a big letdown! Hopefully this never happens to anyone else!

beautiful setting; misleading information regarding cabins

I believe Lou is new to the rental business, so there is room for improvement. We thoroughly enjoyed the natural setting and the beautiful lake. Available kayaks and paddle boat were a welcome treat, there at no cost. From there we were a bit disappointed. The multiple cabins on one site are great if you are bringing extended family to stay together. However, if you are looking for some quiet space away from others this is not exactly the place to be. I did not see specific information stating that cabin 1 and cabin 2 are actually the same building. My husband and I shared this space with another family where you can hear each other through a shared wall; including bathroom activities:( Fear of asbestos exposure is also a concern when looking at the ceiling tiles in all rooms. Additionally, simple items like playing cards, a few games and information regarding local restaurants and activities would be a welcome addition. This is a beautiful setting and with a bit if TLC could be a five star getaway!

Beautiful lake view

The cabin had a big picture window right on the lake with a beautiful view. There were also nice sets of hooks everywhere you wanted to hang things. Family caught many fish off the dock. It is definitely a small place but well-designed.

Came into town for a funeral but had some fun and sun too!

We came to town and enjoyed the Somo view. Tomahawk is a quaint town. We enjoyed the sun and fishing and local restaurants. We even took in a water skiing show!

June 2021 stay

The property was very easy to get to and they parking is great for those with a boat. The cabin is as described. Cabin 1 does share a wall/door with the other cabin. We did have issues with guests in the attached cabin whose dog was barking extremely late into the night and guests who were very loud partying into the night. Overall the property is great.

Tylors Birthday ice fishing trip

It was a cold week to ice fish all week long. We caught fish and had an amazing adventure on lake somo with the awesome convince of the cozy cabin next to the lake.

Very peaceful and relaxing.

My son and I had an awesome time just enjoying nature. We had a good time kayaking, fishing and sitting around the fire. We also, seen an Eagle a couple times out on the lake. The cabin was super clean and very comfortable. We definitely would like to come back for another visit.
