"Very impressive hotel"

"Our stay at Shiomachi Roya in Tomonoura was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. I was impressed by the renovations done to turn this old merchant house into an inn. I liked the design and decor. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Because this particular house (Roya) has only 4 rooms to stay in, the staff are located at another sister inn literally just around the corner, one minute away. "This hotel is located about 5 minutes by car or 15 minutes walking to the train station and shopping area. The room was decent size and very clean but the layout was a little odd. There was a tv but not really angled to watch it from the bed or the seating area. The bathroom was very small with a weird step up and raised threshhold at the bathroom doorway and a small deep bathtub typical of Japanese business hotels. We arrived for breakfast at about 8:45. Breakfast was not great as a hybrid set...
