The lake setting is so beautiful it almost seems unreal. The house has such a great view, the dock is perfect for swimming and the boat was fun! Would definitely come again!

Owners were very easy to talk to. Property was amazing and the views of the lake were incredible. There are a lot of stairs so if older folks want to rent just be aware.

We had a great time kayaking (over 8 miles) and riding on the pontoon! My 3 boys, husband and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at your place. Thank you for sharing it with us!!

This was our first annual immediate family reunion. The house was beautiful with wood decor and a great view of the lake. It was roomy and slept 12 comfortably and is pet friendly! The only comment I would have is that the access to the dock needs work - you had to walk across a loose 2x6 to get from the steps the the dock.

We had a wonderful vacation at the Lakeside Lodge, and I can't say enough good things about the house. It is beautiful! It is very clean and well maintained. There are a lot of activities and restaurants nearby. We especially enjoyed renting a pontoon boat one day to take the children tubing. One day was spent river rafting, which was enjoyed by all of us. GREAT BEDS!!!

It was ok. The entire cabin needed a good cleaning. Walls and ceilings were very dusty. Also none of the pathway lights worked. And the steps and walk way leadi f to the cabin were in very bad shape and was not easy to walk with babies and elderly people. We will not be staying there again.

This property is a great place right on the lake with amazing views, nice furnishings, all the kitchen essentials, great video room and best movie collection I have ever seen and nice game room. Being close to a public boat launch is great since the grandparents didn't have to navigate the 80 or so steps. My only concern was there could be a few more basics like extra plates salad bowls, spices and the steps could be fixed up ( section had missing handrail) and be extended to cover all areas of the walk down to the lake. Still, I'd come back.

Great time with our family at Lake Nantahala in this house big enough to fit our family reunion. 4 stories of space with game room & movie theater. Supplied with movies or bring your own. Pool, fuseball, fire pit, dock & boat! The only thing is you have to be in shape, in lake Nantahala, most homes have many steps to get from lake to house. This one was no exception but beautiful comfortable home !! I would come again for sure.

The house was wonderful for large group . There were many steps to the lake so if you have family members unable to make the journey this is not the place. Attention to the step area near the lake needs to be completed b/c it is slippery when wet. Beautiful home and wonderful lake. We rented the pontoon boat for several days and the process was very easy , Trevor dropped off the keys and picked them up in timely manner, very nice gentelman. We enjoyed our stay, thank-you for sharing your lovely home.

This five bedroom beautiful mountain lake house was a perfect remote getaway for my family over the holidays. The scenery was spectacular. Haveing no internet or WiFi makes it a perfect time for families to play games and bond. The game room and movie room was great. We hiked the Appalachian Mountains, it was definitely a real hike with amazing scenery at the top. I would definitely recommend this house to families who want to get away from it all and have a great mountain house experience. The owners Donna and Gregg were very easy to deal with and made the adventure very pleasant. We would definitely go back.

This house is large with plenty of rooms for everyone. Theater room was great. Game room with pool table was fun. Kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to feed a group of 12. The beds were decently comfortable. The walk to the dock was just what we needed to work off all the good food. For the family members that couldn't walk down the stairs to the boat, we drove to the boat landing so no one missed out on 2 days of boating. The parking at the house was super easy compared to our last stay in the same neighborhood (could have fit 5 mid to large size vehicles). The house owners are very responsive and helpful.

The Lakeside Lodge is beautiful!! It was easy to find, clean, and well-maintained. We thoroughly enjoyed the theater, which was supplied with a wide variety of movies to watch. There were lots of steps, but they were not a problem for any us. This was our 5th summer vacation in the mountains of N.C., but our first time staying on a lake. The children thoroughly enjoyed swimming in the lake off your dock. We were so glad that you had plenty of life jackets for us to use. The owner was very helpful and responded to our questions quickly. I would (and already have) recommend this place to anyone to rent. Thanks for sharing your place with us.

10/10

The house is far bigger than expected and it was a nice surprise. I would recommend putting better photos to receive more bookings. The WiFi comments are all true. There is no cell phone reception within a 10 mile radius of house which is a little scary until you get connected to internet. Trash Drop off is 27 minutes away from house. Would be ideal to share the working hours of location before driving there. Other than that the house itself is perfect.

Our family greatly enjoyed our stay and had an amazing relaxing week at this house and Lake Nantahala. Our boys loved jumping and swimming off the dock and they also loved fishing off the dock. We rented a boat and enjoyed many rides and tubing on the lake throughout the week. The house is well stocked, it worked perfect for us to enjoy cooking breakfast every morning and dinners at the house also really enjoyed eating on the deck with a great view and watching the boats go by. There are stairs down to the lake and back as there are with most all houses on the lake, it was a great work out for the week for our family! It is a large lake house with space for all, so much to do there and so relaxing and peaceful at the same time. The owners were extremely responsive throughout booking and all. We all loved our week and our stay at this lake house and did not want to leave!

The property has so much potential given the location and amazing lake views however a lot of TLC and maintenance needs to be done. The pictures listed do not accurately show the current status of the house which include large overgrowth of plants starting to impede on the stairway to the boat dock, a poorly functioning AC unit requiring window units in a few of the bedrooms, trash underneath the cabin and scattered around the fire pit area to name a few. Like another renter stated you don’t feel welcomed into the cabin for your time there, it would be nice if the host could make you feel more welcomed upon arrival. Again a lot of potential but a little elbow grease would go a long way!

The cabin itself is wonderful, and the setting is incredibly beautiful! The cabin I s beautifully appointed, and feels like a slice of luxury in a very rustic location. The negative was that we didn’t quite realize how remote the location was before arriving... no cell phone reception within 20 minute drive of the cabin. The only thing we needed when we were there that we didn’t have was a working phone. The house line (ATT U-verse, I believe) would not connect and an email to the owner went unanswered. This did provide some difficulty during our trip, so I can’t give a 5 star review. Aside from that, we enjoyed the hot tub, theater room, and game room as well as cooking larger family meals - including trout that our sons fished at a local trout farm. In all, it was a good setting for a relaxing vacation.

We arrived at the home during the early day time and were able to check in as instructed. The home had lost power do to a fire down the road but everything was back up and running quickly. We had a large family and the home was more than accommodating for all of us. 5 Bedrooms, plus the cinema room was much bigger than expected, full of many movies to watch on DVD. The game room was on the lowest level so you definitely need to be able to get up and down stairs well to get around. Hot tub was great, and we had a fire every night. Wifi is not great. Recommend bringing fire sticks or something else if you are a big TV person. The view was beautiful, our Christmas in the mountains was exactly what we expected, minus snow as it was just to warm. The trails around the property were amazing. The only down side was it was hard to see at night time as there was not much lighting and the staircase was very slippery. Highly Recommend.

The cabin is set on a gorgeous lake and has lots of amenities from a hot tub, a nice game room, theater room, and great decks for a nice view. The owner was great and quick to respond with any questions I had. Being so close to the public marina was a plus for bringing our own boats and floats to paddle from. My only comment is that with a little maintenance and updating, it would be a 5 star cabin. The stairs leading down to the water are a bit precarious as many steps were missing the grip paper on them which caused them to be very slippery when wet. Many rooms were very dimly lit and would look much better with some brighter lighting and some were missing the remotes to adjust. Additionally, the DVD player in the theater room would discolor the picture and could stand to be replaced. We spent most of our time in the game room or outside though so that wasn't a big issue for us. Finally, some additional attention to cleaning of oft overlooked areas would be beneficial. Overall though, this was a great cabin that 8 adults very much enjoyed.

The property itself was beautiful. I have a few issues. The phone did not work and they said they were coming out to fix and they never showed up. There is really no cell service there as well. When I got to my bathroom there was a dirty wet towel hung up on the back of my door. You do have to remove all trash but they have you drop at a location that is on the other side of lake which is a 25 minute drive. We did rent the boat however it wasn't cleaned and even had blood stain on the seat and back of seat. But we did enjoy the boat. Over all the actually home was as advertised but all the things I wasn't expecting were a surprise. There is alot of extra charges that you would be charged for I feel like silly things. If a trash bag is left its $15.00 a second one is $25.00. If you move a piece of furniture $55.00. etc. So I felt like I had to be after everyone to stay on top of everything so I wasn't charged extra. We had a good time with our family and that's what's important. Again the place is beautiful.

Starting at the bottom floor - 1st floor - game room & half bath 2nd floor - master bedroom, theater, laundry room & half bath 3rd floor - Living, dining, kitchen, full bath & 3 bedrooms (This level has the front door). 4th floor - 2nd master bedroom & small landing Pros: -Comes with a pontoon boat that you can rent (small motor). -Great communication w/ owner. -Pool table & hot tub. -Ample parking compared to the neighbors. -Plenty of kitchen gadgets & cookware. -Grill stocked w/ propane. -Water at dock is deep and easy to swim in. -Beautiful setting. Cons: -140+ stairs 1-way to the dock. -Stairs to the water are fairly old and very slippery (We had 1 person and a dog fall on them). -One section of the descent to the lake doesn't even have stairs, just a mud/root area. -1 lane gravel road getting to the house. -Rentable pontoon boat doesn't leave the dock if you don't rent it. (We rented a jet skis and a pontoon with larger motor from the marina and it was a pain to dock all of it with the other pontoon there). -Lots of check out rules. -Small kitchen considering size of house -Dealing w/ the trash is AWFUL. (Instructions said trash drop off was open on certain days but those days were wrong, & pretty difficult to find - you'll be surprised how much trash you make in a week....). -Simple things like toilet paper & dish soap are NOT provided. -Wifi password was on a scrap of paper shoved in a box with random stuff. -Internet is pretty bad. -Only 1 TV would work.

The house was very nice, but it was obvious it had not been stayed in recently. The kitchen was well equipped. The hot tub worked well. There was plenty of room for 8 adults and 3 young children and we all had a great stay. The area is beautiful and remote. Parking was creative with a van, suv, and 2 mid-size cars. A sign in the kitchen said that we had to supply our own internet. We left a message for a property owner. Donna promptly returned our call. She was extremely nice and helpful. We had found the password for the free wifi by then. We let Donna know that lightbulbs needed replaced, fireplaces were not working, and slats on the stairs to the dock needed replaced. She had the repairman come out promptly and most of it was fixed. We contacted the repairman directly during the week (per instructions) concerning a garbage disposal clog, but he never returned the call. We let Donna know about contacting the repairman, the propane living room fireplace never turning on, the garbage disposal, and a broken refrigerator bin when we left as someone else was arriving after us and figured she would want to have some of that fixed. We also let her know that the trash disposal place was closed on the day we left (Friday) as trash is not supposed to be left in the house. We cleaned the house and took our trash with us. It has been over a week since we left and I am still waiting for our pet and house deposit to be refunded.

For the price, the property is not worth staying. The owners of the property live in Florida and very little maintenance or TLC has been given to fix things that are falling apart - case in point - dishwasher was not attached to the counter - it worked, but was teetering every time you open or shut it. Owner- this is not something that people need to "report' to you with pictures and arrows, this is something that a MAINTENANCE /HANDY MAN would notice within 30 seconds. Another point - dirty dishes and dirty kitchen. Just because the previous guests are supposed to wash and put away dishes doesn't mean they will. You owners need to spend more time managing the property or charge a lot less than you are charging. There was an old crusty refrigerator plugged in - didn't work well at all Refrigerator was missing shelves, toilet paper roll holders were dangling in bedrooms. lights didn't work, bulbs didn't work - far too much energy is spent telling vacationers the rules and not enough positive welcome - no where on your rules do you WELCOME GUESTS and hope they have a wonderful week (really, we expected more! ) p.s. fix the stairs to the dock.. it really needs to be replaced! so many of the footboards are rotted out!

Our family had an amazing week at the lodge! The cabin was very spacious and clean with plenty of room for everyone to spread out. The beds were very comfortable, towels fluffy and kitchen well-stocked. There was not anything that we needed that was not available. We grilled several nights and appreciated the nice gas grill on the deck. We loved the large dining table for family meals together. The view of the lake is stunning. The hot tub was incredibly relaxing and we used it daily. The movie room with recliners was an incredible bonus - made for a super fun family movie night. The downstairs game room would be great for families with older kids - we just never got around to using it much. We rented a boat for the week and would highly recommend it. Our only issue with the cabin was the dock was in the shade for a good bit of the day. Therefore we took the boat out and anchored it in various spots around the lake for fun in the sun as well as tubing. There are several rope swings around the lake that our older son adored but it was amazing that this house had its own rope swing by the dock that was perfect for our 6 year old daughter. She got to feel like a "big girl" because she could rope swing too. Be aware that there are over 100 steps to get from the dock up to the main part of the house. It was great exercise and not a problem for anyone in our group, but would not likely work for anyone with limited mobility. There is one small stretch toward the bottom where there are no steps and it could be slippery and difficult to navigate - it would be helpful if steps could be added in this one area. The shady dock and steps were the only reasons the rating is a 4 versus 5. Overall we were thrilled with the house - it was beautifully furnished with all the comforts. Donna was very easy to work with and we had no problems or issues during our stay. We would highly recommend it!
