"This was a lovely locally run independant hotel. Our room was large with a balcony, there is a nice pool and great views.
The only caveat would be that in my opinion you need a car. On a map the hotel isn't far from anything Pompeii, Herculaneum, Vesuvius, Sorrento, Napoli. The trains run frequently and are cheap, (about 3 euro or less per person per journey).
The hotel is only 1 mile from the nearest station. However, it's not a nice walk up streets that are not all paved or lit and motorbikes in particular drive fast. The hotel does offer a free shuttle but it has to be pre booked which means you have to know always in advance where you are going and when you will be back. Taxi's are few and far between and are expensive (30+Euro for just a few miles, if you can find one). It didn't work for us and we ended up booking a hotel for 1 night in Sorrento so we could stay late and have a meal and a drink without watching the clock.
If you plan to have a hire car or to drive I recommend this place otherwise if you want to explore the area I recommend Napoli or Sorrento"
