"We were merely passing thru Tirano on our way to Milano. We wanted a place w/ good reviews that was close to train station. When we got to Tirano, we mapped the hotel. It was raining lightly at the time, & to our dismay, the map showed a 12 min walk that was moderately uphill. We gritted our teeth & began the soggy walk, dragging our suitcases over ancient cobblestones. My wife was a little upset w/herself because our accommodations were much further than she had thought. "I had a 2-night stay in the hostel part of the building. There is a hotel/inn and a hostel with the same entrance, reception and shared facilities. A bus/train travelcard for the Engadin valley is included in the room rate. The bar area is nice and they do a range of snacks like sandwiches and pizzas. There is free WiFi, though some parts of the building are better covered than others. The hostel room was a 6-bunk room with a shared shower, WC and basin. I don't think the lockers will accept...

"We really enjoyed the uniqueness of the apartment as well as the location. We had our two daughters with us (19 and 25), the bedrooms were a little tight, but we understood that would be the case when we booked. "I had very low expectations as I am traveling on a budget this trip. I was pleasantly surprised at how lovely, modern yet rustic, clean and practical this stay was. I had just had a long trip and was dying to sleep and shower. I expected a motel 6 vibe and got a very nice, rustic b and b feeling with a much appreciated modern elevator, large comfortable shower and clean space to relax. My only disappointment is that I did not have longer to stay! Also, if you’re working abroad- their internet was great!! "
