"My wife and I had a really disappointing experience at this hotel. As soon as we walked into the room it smelled old and musty, like it hadn’t been properly aired out or cleaned in a long time. The bigger concern was the outside of the property. The parking lot was extremely dark with very poor lighting, and there were several homeless individuals around the property. Because of the lack of lighting and security presence, my wife and I did not feel safe walking to and from our room. To make matters worse, there was urine in the corner of the stairwell leading up to the second floor. It was very noticeable and made it clear that basic maintenance and cleanliness of the property are being neglected. Because of all of this, we didn’t even end up staying the night. We left and checked into another hotel because we didn’t feel safe, even though that meant forfeiting the money we had already paid for the room. Overall a very disappointing experience and not somewhere we would consider staying again."

"We loved the Inn on the Alameda! It was so nice and everyone was very friendly. There is a little room for improvement when it came to the almost perfect breakfast buffet. The eggs taste like they are powdered. It wouldn't have made that much difference if everything else wasn't outstanding! Maybe an egg casserole or something instead? Also, the coffee was extremely weak and that was interesting because, again, everything else was way above average!"

"Had a rough start at check in with the room being 62degrees, open window, no idea how to work the heat, lamp not working, and bulbs out in bathroom. It was like house keeping left without finishing. Ultimately staff took care of everything but it just left a bad first impression. Also if you think, like we did, we were booking a fireplace room; the fireplace is wood burning, no wood. Although I suppose we could have bought wood and had a fire, we just expected gas. Breakfast was nice. The property is a bit dated, but maybe that’s part of the attraction for some. "
