Fairy tale canyon, Issyk-kul lake

Skazka (=Fairy tale) canyon on the south shore of Issyk-kul lake. It is located few kilometres from Tosor village and contains yellow, orange or red sandstone formations of various shapes resembling fairy tale dragons, giants or castles. This particular erosion formation is similar to Rainbow hills in Iceland.

Skazka (=Fairy tale) canyon on the south shore of Issyk-kul lake. It is located few kilometres from Tosor village and contains yellow, orange or red sandstone formations of various shapes resembling fairy tale dragons, giants or castles. This particular formation is called the Chinese wall from obvious reason. The origin is mostly from wind and rain erosion. The orange shades are contrasting with occassional shrubs of several kinds like sea buckthorn (Hippophae Rhamnoides).
