A Truly Exceptional Experience
We have stayed at many VRBO homes, and this is one of the best ever! A comfortable bed, sofa and armchair, excellent bright lighting and a well-equipped kitchen . . . and one of the loveliest porches in France, looking down on the Lot River below the village of St. Cirq perched on a high bluff. It's a great base for exploring a beautiful area. Thanks, Nicole and Alex!

Clean, comfortable house
We enjoyed our stay very much. It was convenient for visiting St Cirq LaPopie, Cahors, Figeac and gardens in the Dordogne near La Roc Gageac. The bed was very comfortable and bedroom was lovely. As others have noted, toilet is on ground floor so might be a bit of a hike at night for some guests. Nicole and her husband are very helpful and wonderful people.

Lovely view, great location
Nice old property lovingly renovated . Great location for visiting St Cirq and the area. Charming host and hostess. Access road not as difficult as some have indicated. Laundry in cellar but totally functional. Single toilet on ground floor may not suit all groups.

Heavenly.
Situated in the most prime position overlooking the Lot river and St-Cirq-Lapopie, you could not ask for a better outlook. I miss our days eating lunch and dinner out on the deck drinking in the spectacular sight. Hosts were a delight.

Lovely gite with great views
The owners were very welcoming and friendly. The gite was lovely and very well equipped and the view from the terrace was beautiful. This was a great place to stay and explore the area and evenings spent on the terrace made it perfect. Thank you to Nicole and Alex for all your kind attention.

Idyllic, charming, spacious and comfortable
After visiting Paris, Lyon and Bordeaux, we were very excited to spend some time in the country - this wonderful home was just what we were looking for. Perched above the Lot river and overlooking the almost surreal village of Saint Cirq Lapopie, we could have been satisfied if we never left the house! However, we found great restaurants for both lunch and dinner in Saint Cirq (at what we thought were very reasonable prices) and had a great outing to nearby Limogne for a farmers' market where we picked up a huge ribeye (entrecote), haricot verts, chanterelle mushrooms, garlic and shallots for an at-home meal. Loved that there was a BBQ grill so we could easily cook at home one night. The large deck was a perfect spot for breakfast, dinner and aperitifs. The vineyards of Cahors were a little trek at about 45 minutes, but the winding country roads were beautiful with a pretty village every couple of miles to look at. Google Maps worked like a charm to get us here, and when we weren't using the strong wifi signal at the house, there was good cell coverage. Looking at the pictures before we arrived, I was worried that it seemed too good to be true. After spending our last 3 nights in France at this wonderful refuge, I can assure you it's even better and more beautiful than it looks on the screen! Nicole and Alex were great hosts, though keep in mind that they don't speak a lot of English if you don't speak much French. My high school French education, dusted off after 20+ years, was more than adequate and Nicole filled in where my French left off. We made sure to request bed linens (included with stays of 3 nights ore more) and a bath towel. Guests are required to clean the house before leaving or chose a E40 cleaning fee. We're pretty tidy folks so we were happy to save the money and leave the place as clean as when we arrived. We hope to visit again with friends and enjoy another wonderful early autumn in the country - Merci Nicole et Alex! Jesse and Warren

Holiday in Lot
Excellent accommodation. Roomy and well equiped - nice and cool inside during very hot weather. Great views of Saint-Cirq-Lapopie village and over the river Lot from the shaded balcony. Good location for visiting Cahors, the Lot valley and towns and the Cahors wine region. ahighlight was a visit to the Pech Merle caves. Nicole and Alex Templier were lovely, friendly and very helpful hosts. We spent a very enjoyable two weeks here in June.

A PERCH IN PARADISE
The Lot river valley is spectacular, and this house is beautifully situated to appreciate it. Very comfortable, roomy, charming, and user-friendly. A great spot to relax and to explore the area, including St.Cirque, the caves at Peche Merle, and Cahors. That said, there were a few negatives which it would be good to be aware of: -- the driveway exit is completely blind: we had one person cross the road to signal when it was safe to proceed. You can park across the street and avoid the problem, but it is an uphill hike that you might not want undertake with luggage. -- the website says that linens are provided: they were not. The bed is comfortable and has a nice duvet on it, but there was only a mattress cover, no sheets and no towels. I suggest addressing this with the owner before booking. [Alex did bring a couple of towels on our 2nd day there after we requested them --but Nicole insisted that the website states that renters must provide their own linens....rather unrealistic for international travelers]. --Shower is tres modern, but difficult to regulate water temp Wifi and washing machine worked well; kitchen had everything needed; short walk to a well-stocked grocery [narrow, curving road-- bring safety vests and bright flashlight if you will be walking after dusk]. We cleaned up after ourselves to avoid the steep housekeeping fee. Bottom line: a great place to stay; a few minor challenges to deal with.

Most lovely!
We were in your house for a week during the end of may. The house was lovely and comfortable. Amazing how you managed to create this nice house from an old one. The caracteristics remained and are a joy to look at. The house is placed on the river Lot and has a lovely vieuw at Saint Circ Lapopie. At nighttime it is like living in a fairytale. For fishermen it is a paradise. There are a lot of ways to enter the river. Lots of fish to catch. And being there is just so relaxing! The back of the house is on a mountainside. There are a lot of lovely birds, butterflies and a waterspring to wander about. We love to return one day. Maybe one lesser point: when we arrived and Nicole explaind some things to know from the house, she asked us if we wanted to do the cleaning of the house at the end of the holliday ourselves or if we wanted them to take care of it. The costs where €40.-. I think that's a bit over the top considdering the rent.
