"Janet and Chris were very welcoming and the property was clean, nice decor and well furnished, an ideal size for a couple or even with a child. It was a great base to explore a part of France that we were unfamiliar with and our dog was well catered for with nice walks in the area and also from the cottage."

"This is truely a splendid location to enjoy the Brenne's amazing rich nature: red deer, wild boar, red fox, a great number of bird species. They can all be seen around the house and in the etang and forest in the 'backgarden' of the beautiful house."

"This place is a lovely French Apartment with everything you need. The hostess speaks good English and is very helpful. The local countryside is very beautiful. Jan and Dan Mantyla Sudbury, Ontario, Canada"

Déçu par la propreté, la poussière en général surtout au niveau des chambres n'était pas faite. Beaucoup de moutons de poussière sous les lits. "We had a wonderful holiday in this spacious gite. The pool was a big hit with the children and a perfect escape from the heat ! The location is set in acres of stunning scenery, yet you aren’t far from bakeries, butchers and supermarkets etc.. Local wine and produce is very good value and Relais Routiers close to the gite were superb for lunch, 4 courses including wine for just €13. "Beautiful authenthic house in Brenne located next du Maison du Parc of the Brenne nature reserve were walks into the reserve start. Lot of lakes were birds and other animals thrive. The house has everything you need and a magnificent garden. Our dogs also liked it. For the kids the area got a bit boring after a couple of days of walking and birding as most lakes were private so we bought stuff were they could play with in the garden. The house was the old donkey house and is nicely restored....

"Nous avons été accueilli par Valérie, qui nous à présenté son gîte ainsi que les alentours.Le gite était parfait, bien agencé, bien pourvu et nous avons pu profiter de la salle attenante pour un anniversaire.Un extérieur vaste et bien entretenu, et la surprise des animaux pour le enfants (une biche !)Valérie s'est montré disponible tout le long du séjour et même avant et nous avons passé un week-end parfait en famille !Je recommande ce lieu pour toute les familles qui souhaitent un gite...

Best Stay Ever !!

"Wow what can I say - we had a fantastic 2 week holiday at the Chateau and hope to return one day Highlights - the house furnishings and grounds , the equipment and a very special mention to Nicolas , the manager who was so helpful and even took it upon himself to cook us the local delicacy- he is a credit to the place !Montmorillon is a delight Criticisms - not anything I can immediately think of to be honest . The local villages are very quiet in late May/early June and the bars /cafes open periodically. Maybe a schedule of what is open when in Journet and La Trimouille would be helpful but that is nit -picking Thank you Stephen !!! "
