A very nice onsen hotel. Traditional Japanese rooms and fabulous meals. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. They have a shuttle service to the train station, which was most appreciated. We would highly recommend this hotel.
Amazing staff and service everyone was so nice. Amazing hospitality. We loved everyone and everything about this place. The rooms are very nice and super clean and big apartments. The town is amazing with great food options and things to try. But honestly what made this place shine was the people.
Hot springs are very nice especially out door one sitting while you see the river in front of you.
For sure will book again for this experience if I am in Japan next time.
Along the river side very beautiful river view .
Staff with kimono dress felt very traditional style we like it . While we leaving the staff sending us off till the car lost sight . Over all we like it very much
The service was wonderful at Ginka. Staff was very accommodating to foreign guests and tried their best to explain everything.
We appreciated the shuttle that took us to town whenever we wanted to go- super convenient!
Our river view from our room was amazing and so peaceful. It was truly one of the most peaceful rest I had away from home.
I will recommend to our friends.
It's my first Ryokan experience and it's totally worth it. The view is amazing and the ryokan itself is so beautiful. We booked Japanese style room and there is also a bath with the view. We could spend time in the room all day. There are also private onsen and public one. Private onsen can be reserved. Free Yukata for rent and exceptional dinner although quite expensive and have to be extra since the dinner and breakfast option didn't come with the room when we booked in. Overall, it's an amazing experience and would like to come back again
Our stay at Gunma was really great, though I think not quite worth the price we paid. Overall the staff were very friendly and welcoming, the food was great and the room was lovely, but nothing extraordinary. I’ve done extensive travel through Japan and I’ve stayed at more exceptional places for less money, which was a shame.
We did thoroughly enjoy our stay though, I just think 1500USD for one night in the river view room is too much, particularly when the hotel is actually set just outside Kinosaki onsen (too far to walk) so you have to rely on the shuttle bus, which actually wasn’t running for an entire day of our stay - so we couldn’t get into the town. It also didn’t include the day pass for the onsen in Kinosaki, when all of the hotels in the town do - again a shame when you’re paying so much for the room and the onsen pass is only 13USD - they could throw one in!
I also think for a hotel of that price, 11am check out seems a little stingy - usually 12pm is done in luxury hotels, so it just felt a little rushed in the morning.
Overall the stay was good but I wouldn’t rush back at that price
This is a great boutique hotel, but rather difficult to locate even with GPS when driving. But once you arrive you will find the hassles worth it. All staff members are wonderfully courteous and helpful, I didn’t recall any single staff in the hotel either in the common area or the restaurant not serving us with a smile, from the young man who showed us the way and carried all our luggages in one go and the lady staff who briefed us all we need to know about the hotel arrangement, The hotel is located quietly by the sea, where you can enjoy the open air hot spring with the company of a few sea gulls. The hotel is a bit pricey compared to those on the onsen street but you find the difference. The free drinks in the room, free rental of yukata and free usage of private hot spring bath, and the sumptuous dinner and breakfast. We have stayed in three onsen hotels during this trip and we find this one being the best. We had an unexpected experience in the hotel. My husband helped to save an old Japanese gentleman from drowning in the hot spring bath. And after we checked out we received an email from the hotel saying the gentleman is recovering. We don’t speak Japanese and my husband didn’t know what exactly happened. He only knew everyone in the hotel were working together to help, at 7am in the morning. It was double happiness that we enjoyed our stay and we contributed to this life-saving event. This was such a wonderful experience!
Perfect place for a rest and recharge mid-holiday. The staff were exceptional, food extraordinary, and the view from the room so relaxing that I didn't venture far.
Fabulous experience, beautiful property, excellent food, and awesome staff. Yes, the building is showing some wear but overall it is still very beautiful. The staff were terribly apologetic when we arrived as we walked from the bus stop not knowing they had a shuttle. We used the shuttle a few times during our stay as the property is a bit out if town, but worth it as far as I’m concerned because we were really able to slow our pace and enjoy our stay.
We really enjoyed this ryokan. The hotel is showing its age but the view of the water, the awesome bathtub and the staff really made our stay. A definite highlight of our trip to Japan.
