We had a one-nighter planned for Islay and wanted to spend the night in very nice accommodations. Saw the Islay House and booked. The pictures did not do this place justice. A beautiful renovation of a 17th Century (and later) Country House into a small boutique inn. Wonderful room, the dining room and bar were just what we were hoping for in the stay.
The owner was present and a delight. Staff was attentive and gracious; the dinner in the dining room offered a small but well-executed...

Emma was an amazing host. The property was clean, the host was welcoming, and the breakfast was superb with a variety of fresh fruits and muffins to go with your main dish. (Definitely say yes to the porridge!!) Be aware, the property is not near any shops or... anything at all, really. Itās a proper country house surrounded by beautiful nature (and right in front of a bus stop) so if you want to eat out or get groceries youāll have to plan for it as the closest store is 4-5 miles away. Lovely location out of town and on a quiet street. Owner also operated a restaurant and garden center. So many of your needs were really just a step away. We really appreciated the way it was sort of hands off. We stayed 2 nights. Beds were very comfortable.

We had an early ferry to Islay the next morning, and the staff were so thoughtful to prepare our breakfast ahead of time and leave it at the front desk. Great service and nice, comfortable room. The hotel is also very close to the ferry terminal ā only about a 10-minute drive, which was very convenient.

Brilliant stay in lovely 2 bedroom Luxury Apartment with sauna looking onto the marina. We had fun in the spa and enjoyed delicious food and cocktails in the restaurant. Staff in restaurant and reception were all superb. Thanks Jamie and gentlemen back from Texas for looking after us so well.

Everything was lovely! Room, staff, and breakfast. We arrived late due to a flat tire (watch out for those Scotland back roads š) and the staff was superb in welcoming us tired American travelers.
Just a few notes if you're a first time world traveler from the US, they didn't offer wash cloths and there were no "flat sheets", only fitted with the duvet. My fault not theirs for realized this is standard in Europe. Hope this helps someone!

Awesome, friendly staff and beautiful town. Heated bathroom floor was a really nice touch. Bedding did not look very clean though, and no body soap was provided, but the rest of the experience overshadowed this for me.
