"This was a great choice for a stop-over on our travels from the ferry in Santander to our destination, near Obidos in Western Portugal. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was clean and perfect for our stay, as well as being dog-friendly. The park opposite provided a convenient dog walking area. The evening set meal was served in the bar area, rather than the restaurant, which was fine. The food was good, and excellent value, and the house wine was delightful. In all, this was a perfect choice and we shall use this hotel on our return journeys."

"Amazing stay! Property is very clean. Breakfast/coffee was great! Property is nicely maintained. They make wine and you can purchase their wine to enjoy by the pool. It is a little bit of a drive to Douro Valley but the drive has amazing scenery!"

"Parking onsite was great. The pool was a wonderful way to relax after exploring the valley (especially since it was very hot). We had dinner there the first night and it was excellent. Great breakfast with stunning views."
Casa do Rio Wine Hotel - Vallado

"Our stay at Casa do Rio was exceptional. There are 10 rooms with stunning views of the Douro River and vineyards. Our room was spotless and tastefully decorated, and we were welcomed with a plate of fresh figs and white port and all ingredients to make portonics. The grounds are lovely with an infinity pool overlooking the river and two semi private fresh water dunking pools. The food and was outstanding! We made our dinner selections earlier in the day and were treated to an exquisite 3 course meal complete with dessert and wine service. We were served a breakfast buffet every morning with fresh fruit and juices, cured meats and cheeses, an abundant offering of homemade breads, pastries and cake of the day. There were also eggs and meats prepared to order. The staff and service completed our stay. They were genuinely warm and gracious. From Felipe, the manager who greeted us upon our arrival, to the Daniel and Carlos, our food servers for dinner, to all of the other staff who contributed to our amazing experience. Wow!!"

"The lodging was well maintained and fit our needs perfectly, including an elevator to the first floor for my husband with bad knees. Staff was attentive to any requests. Rooms were spacious and equipped with all our needs. Breakfast was substantial and beautifully presented. A perfect central locations to do day trips to 4 other northern Aldeias Historicas."

"Solo puedo recomendar esta casa en el interior de Portugal, si quieres pasar unos días para desconectar, relajarte, descansar y también descubrir Portugal. Nos costo un poquito encontrar la casa, pero puede que fuera por culpa del navegador, ya que el Google Maps, lo localiza enseguida. Esta todo muy limpio, y ordenado, y el anfitrión es un encanto, pendiente si necesitas algo, y trabajando para mantener la zona en un muy buen estado. Solo lo puedo recomendar esta casa. Hay Wifi, no funciona super excelente, pero si que va bien, para ser una zona apartada (el supermercado mas cercano se encuentra mas o menos a unos 15 minutos). Dispone de una amplia zona de aparcamiento, lavadora, zona de barbacoa, zona de piscina con sus hamacas, y mucha zona para pasear también por la naturaleza. Si vas con niños pequeños, creo que lo van a disfrutar mucho. O en pareja para relajarse unos días, también es un acierto."
