"We had a wonderful stay! The staff went above and beyond to make us comfortable. They have a communal lounge area where you can hang out and grab a drink, patio tables outside, and a restaurant that on its own is worth the visit. The breakfast was amazing and very filling. "A perfect location for our stay in Varenna. Really close to the lakefront and ferry port, which was ideal - and only a 5min walk down from the train station. The room was simple, but clean and enough space for 2 of us. We luckily had a lovely view out over the lake. The room was cleaned thoroughly every day, and we made use of the fridge and the coffee maker. We did get quite hot in the room (admittedly - the weather was super hot, so made it worse!) - the aircon seemed to struggle a bit, but the management supplied a fan for the room to help. Easy check-in - with the details having been sent before we arrived, and great communication for the Hotel management."

"I was disappointed to find out that I had booked an apartment in the “residence portion” instead of booking a room at the Hotel. It was a complete oversight on my part… so pay attention to what you’re booking!!! While the apartment was clean and had a great view, it was not what I was expecting when I booked. The staff tried to accommodate my offering a hotel room for one night, however it would have been quite inconvenient for me to move multiple times. The staff at the front desk (Alicia and -Rhea and others) are beyond helpful. I made the mistake of not calling or emailing them in advance of the trip. For example I’m sure they would have suggested renting a car and/or let me knows that the only option is to take public transportation, eg crowded, hot ferries and buses or pay up $150 + for a taxi ONE WAY! This is a single most critical thing. I did not realize when booking this trip… Transportation is a mess. The hotel had a DJ one night that we enjoyed very much along with the nice stuff at the pool bar. Breakfast is served on the terrace with a nice view… and while there was quite a variety, it was my least favorite meal of the hotel. The hotel itself is in a rather remote location (we didn’t want to be surrounded by tourists). So if you like that - I highly recommend Filario especially if you stay at the hotel. The beach access is very convenient and there is a beautiful pool although we didn’t use it. The views and quiet mornings of the lake are magical."

"Don’t normally do reviews but this one deserves one! Lots to do and the whole resort is clean and tidy. The pools were great especially the adult relax pool. The views of the surrounding mountains are breathtaking and can be seen from your room, to eating in the restaurants and to swimming in the pool. The staff were all great and were always helpful and did things with a smile and often went above and beyond what was expected. It was my wife’s 30th birthday while we were there and without asking she was given a birthday dessert, Prosecco and limoncello shots. All on the house! They also went to the effort of buying a ‘30’ balloon as a surprise and left it in the room on her birthday. Only downside is how far it is from Malpensa airport. It can be €300 one way in a taxi so it’s cheaper to hire a car which we did. However the effort it took to get there was well worth it! Would definitely recommend!"

"The staff were lovely and really helpful with any advice for getting ferries etc. Gorgeous building with a really authentic Italian feel, would definitely stay here again! The location is also amazing and so central, made travelling to different locations really easy aswell as exploring Bellagio itself"

"The hotel is Fab! The view is worth every penny and highly recommend getting a room with a view of the lake as watching sunset from the balcony was incredible. All the staff were very welcoming and helpful with any questions. The restaurant/ Bar was also fab with gorgeous pizzas for good value and could see a lot of locals visit to sit and enjoy the view. Parking was also never an issue. Only issue I would say is the lack of aircon. They do provide fans in the rooms but one of our nights it wasn’t quite enough and struggled sleeping but would still stay again."

"We loved our stay here. (June 2026) 5 stars The best thing about our 4 days visiting the Lake Como/Bellagio area was the Il Perlo Panorama Hotel with restaurant. The views are fantastic, the staff & service were wonderful, the restaurant offers exceptional food with great pricing (our breakfast was included in the price of our room), and the rooms were clean and comfortable with nice amenities/toiletries. 1. The pictures of the rooms and the views are true and accurate. The hotel is up on a hill and you get the view of the entire lake with the Alps surrounding you. The sunsets are not to be missed on their restaurant veranda. We had a room with a balcony facing the north and we spent every evening there just taking it all in. 2. Staying at Il Perlo Panorama is for those who like to get away from the crowds of the touristy Bellagio town. Quiet, just the birds and the occasional cow or donkey on the local farms, very charming. There is a shuttle bus that the hotel provides that will take you back and forth to the town of Bellagio, less than a 10 minute scenic drive each way. 3. We ate at the restaurant 3 of our 4 nights for dinner. The food was that good and the pricing was better than what you find in the main town. Plus, after dinner you simply walk up to your room, sit on your balcony and drink wine. 4. The breakfast offered a wonderful selection of food, juices and coffee. 5. The staff is friendly, helpful, and easy to communicate with."
