"The house was large and spacious with more than enough space for our party of 6. The inside of the house was well maintained with nice furniture, TV, and pool table. It was in a very quiet neighborhood with small farms next door. Definitely need a car since there is nothing within walking distance. For the price, this was a good value.On the downside, it seems there is some maintenance work being done outside and the tools and garden hose were just left lying around and were not put away. "First off, the staff...this might be the best staff my wifeband I have ever encountered. Friendly, helpful and their attention to detail was top tier! Then our room was immaculate, the bathroom was gorgeous, and the bed and linens were perfect so that we could fall asleep after a long trip from the US (or a day walking around the very walkable city of Aveiro)"

"Instead of driving from Lisbon to Porto in one shot, we stayed overnight at the castle. WOW! Living in the US it is not uncommon to spend over $200 for a fairly plain room in a generic hotel located next to a highway. Our room cost less than that and it was in a BEAUTIFUL castle, surrounded by a forest with hiking trails, with nice gardens, and incredible living rooms and porches. I had seen mixed reviews of the dinner online... my wife and I had dinner and breakfast at the castle and the food and service were great... among the best we had during our 10-day trip to Portugal. It is about 2.5 hours from Lisbon, and about 1 hour from Porto. We arrived in Lisbon from the US, saw Lisbon for a few days, then took the train to Sintra. We rented our car in Sintra, and drove to the castle arriving around 5pm. Had a great time hanging in and around the castle, had a great dinner, and a great breakfast the next morning, and then headed off to Porto. So glad we did not visit a big city, and then do a long drive straight to another fairly big city. Bussaco Palace was the perfect place to pause in between Portugal's two big cities."

"This is the third time I’ve stayed at this hotel and , as with the other times, I have nothing but positive things to say. The property is in an absolutely perfect location - five minutes to the beach and a few minutes the other way to the river. It’s fairly quiet after dark but felt safe on my own, The check in was easy. I arrived early with the intention to leave my bags, but they were super helpful and checked if my room was ready - which it was. The room itself was spacious and clean, with a large bed and a good amount of storage. The shower was powerful and products such as shower gel and shampoo. There was a lovely balcony with chairs. There was great choice at breakfast in the lounge area. In the evening, it was also possible to buy drinks including alcohol to have my room (am sure you could also have it in the bar). All the staff I met were really friendly and helpful. They are on 24 hours a day so felt safe coming in late at night. I’ll definitely return next time I stay in Costa Nova and would recommend to others."
