We have come to realize the Holiday Inn Express experience is always welcoming when we travel...like "coming home". This trip, staff was especially accommodating with a booking issue I had due to an illness where trip had to be aborted. And, don't underestimate the value of complimentry breakfast...saves a lot of time trying to find eating places early in the morning. I figure the average sit-down breakfasts when we travel to be about $25 per person with tax and tip, so we don't have that added cost and hassle when traveling by staying at the HIE.

After a hard day in the saddle we enjoyed a swim. The hot tub was especially beneficial to relieve lower back aches from 5 hrs on the road. At breakfast I chatted with the pleasant lady who prepped the breakfast bar. She gets there at 5:30 a.m. to make sure guests have a good meal before continuing on their trips. Overall, staff is nice...maybe it is because they work in "The Land of Enchantment" (New Mexico).

The driveway needs to be weeded, the staff is lax but the rooms are clean and the food was as expected. We had to find the woman doing the food service to provide more paper plates and put out the butter. The staff didn't seem to care, except for one young man who fetched me a plastic bag. The only problem was we requested a handicap room and the one we got was not. We took it because we were tired and my wife fell down. But they did move us to a handicap room the next day. Everything else was fine. Clean, quiet, nice breakfast, nice staff.
