Check-in was easy and room was very clean. Not many restaurants or markets in the area.
They charged me again at the motel , never refunded me, rooms are extremely small , beds are newish, staff was nice, it was the double charge that still ticks me off with added charges-

Convenient, great air-conditioning, a great 1 night sleep over our room could have used some sweeping. Other then that it was comfortable. The mini fridge kept out dood and drinks cold. The manager was pleasant.
I was at a music festival and it was hot. Looked up motel in the area. Everything in town full. 9 miles away I found this little place. Reviews were not great but I was done camping. Arrived to a newly outside painted, signed in, went to the room and it was newly painted, new flooring, new fixtures in bathroom and furniture. Air conditioner new and was great relief. Manager went out of his way to ask if everything was ok every time I returned. Review trolls be damned..get a life.

The room was quiet and clean. The exterior property is in need of clean up. Lots of piles of stuff. I believe they are in the process of cleaning it up. The staff was very friendly and helpful. If they get the place cleaned up on the exterior it would be very nice. Needs some work. In a pinch it was fine.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
A small family runs thid place they are friendly and nice but the facility is old and needs renovation. This is the best you can do without going on to Kalamath 30 miles further on. There are few gas stations and restaurants in the area. This felt like a place in a Raymond Carver story.
Nothing to like. We were shocked to see we had booked a secluded motel that was in rough shape. The new management is working on the property and trying to improve it but they have a long way to go. Rooms were very small with oversized desk. TV box hanging from back of TV. Small cubby for fold up bed with insufficient bedding. Had to keep asking for towels which were thin and old. No hair dryer in room. Once obtained it was a wall mount dryer that was not mounted. Very unsettling but had to make it work since no other hotels nearby or vacancies.
Our room was very clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and accomodating. When an issue arose, they solved it promptly. The new management team is doing an excellent job, and many improvements have been made.
I tried prior to staying at the property to call and confirm our reservation and could not get through to anyone and had to contact Expedia. The phone number available on Expedia to speak with the property does not even have a voicemail set up.The same thing the day of the reservation when I tried to call, no one would answer prior to my arrival. The phone rings through to say that no one is available. There’s not even a voice message.I had booked 3 rooms on Expedia months in advance, and when we arrived there were no rooms prepared for us. The people who were supposed to be managers were sleeping in hotel rooms while three young kids under the age of 10 were trying to help us check in. One of the older children finally went to get his parents to help us, but the rooms were not ready. We waited for an hour while they were cleaning our rooms. We finally were given a key to one room but there were piles of trash in front of the door, holes in the floor with particle board replacements, damaged furniture, and most importantly, a damaged lock on the door to the room. We did not feel safe staying there nor was it a comfortable space. I appreciate that Expedia was willing to refund our money. The rooms were priced at $90 each including taxes and fees, but I would not have paid $10 to sleep in them. For other people thinking that they’re going to get a basic but safe, clean room, be warned there is no management, maintenance, or service available for this property.
Double charged me for the booking. No one answers the phone, latch on window was broken off, bathroom door wouldnt shut, toilet was loose and wobbles whenever you sit on it. Would really like a call back.
Property has been updated fairly recently but it was unclean. I looked at 3 more rooms after finding my linens were soiled. All 4 rooms had dirty pillowcases. Rooms smell of sewage. There is a broken down car with flat tires in the driveway.

Adrian charged more than what was posted on the website for my room. He also charged me $100 additional for a "deposit," which he said would be refunded if I left the room in good conditi8n, and I did. My $100 has not been refunded. Adrian's dogs are kept inhumanely in an on site travel trailer and they barked all night. The grounds are messy, the towels are frayed and the room was cold. I am filing complaints with BBB, Tulelake Police and California State Attorney's office for the return of my money. I am filing a complaint with the ASPCA and County Animal Control in the hope the dogs will be rescued and animal cruelty charges filed.
