The Inn on Knowles Hill
10/10 Excellent
"House was amazing and breakfast was wonderful"
Historical Victorian with Modern Touch. Garage with EV Charger
8/10 Good
"This house was perfect for a quick trip to Yosemite and comfortably accommodated our family of four. It was a little difficult to find everything when we arrived at night, but straightforward enough once we got oriented. Ed communicated well before our trip and gave us some great suggestions for the area. There is an outlet in the garage where you can plug in an EV charger, or there is a Tesla charger in town just a few minutes away. The house leans heavily into a Victorian-era vibe, with lots of antique furniture and charming details. It was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. There is also a Walmart and Safeway just around the corner, which was convenient for any last-minute supplies."
Historic Sonora Inn
8/10 Good
"We loved this place so much that we stayed an extra night. The NIGHT STAFF (Viri & Christina: great meeting you!) were SO welcoming, personable and accommodating. This hotel isn’t just like any other chain hotel you can get in any city in the US. It has character specific to Sonora and is historic, yet has all the amenities and necessities of a modern hotel. And it’s right on the Main Street so you always have things to do and see. Only minor complaints are housekeeping came in without knocking and there are no ”do not disturb” door signs, and check out is 11am and if you ask to extend it you only get to 11:30. You can stay longer but have to pay $50 to stay until noon and then a full nights stay if you stay any later. But that’s only a problem if you’re a night owl/sleep in late like us. I will absolutely be back again!!"
Gunn House Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"My wife and I loved our visit to the Gunn House Hotel. We met Harry who is wonderful and very helpful. And he's quite a good chef for morning breakfast. The room was clean and the air conditioner worked great. We sat outside our room in the evening with our tablets and watched all the cars go by on Washington St. I give an A+ to the staff and Harry for their great hosting. We will be back. Take care for now, Kevin & Debbie."
Sonora Gold Lodge
8/10 Good
"The Sonora Gold Lodge is one of the few remaining independent old fashion motels in the area. It is old, so you expect some quirkiness. The King size bed was new and the flooring was new. So, they have done some upgrades. I really like the fact that I could park my motorcycle right outside my room and it was very quiet. I needed a room for the night because I was in town for two events and did not want to drive the hour home between. I was looking for the most affordable room in town. The Sonora Gold Lodge was exactly what I needed. I caution you though, if you are looking for a modern, high-end place to stay this is not it. If you are looking for a clean bed and shower that is a bit retro and quirky this is perfect."
Loved by Guests! Quiet Villa w/ King Beds, Full Kitchen, 2-Min Drive to Downtown
10/10 Excellent
"A lovely and reasonable place to stay. Our host was amazing! The home was very clean, nice and cool in the summer heat and the bed was so comfortable."
Beautiful Updated Home in Downtown Sonora
10/10 Excellent
"This home was perfect in every way: updated and clean throughout, lovely outdoor space, thoughtfully appointed kitchen with everything we needed, comfortable beds (with the softest sheets ever), a pack and play for our grandson, beautiful bathrooms, close enough to the downtown area that we could walk there each day. The house was even decorated with fresh red flowers and patriotic items for the 4th of July holiday. And then there were the unanticipated extras, like fresh milk and packets of oatmeal, coffee, hot cocoa, tea, or espresso, as well as numerous games and books to pass the time. We arrived too late to run by a grocery store on our way so these things were very appreciated, as was the generous supply of toiletries and paper goods provided. Peggy was great at communicating with us, and she made check in (and out) a breeze. We will definitely try to stay here again any time that we are back in the Sonora area!"
