"Liked the fact it was next to the Abbey and being able to visit outside of normal hours. The building is beautiful but lacks the facilities one would expect from a 4* hotel. No bar, no fridge, water or tea/coffee making facilities in room. Our TV and in-room telephone did not work and it took them 3 visits to fix it (and it went on the blink again the next day). Car parking is far from the hotel although they pick up your luggage in a golf cart. Noticed a lot of cars parked closer (luxury cars)...

"We had a fabulous 1 night stay in Saumur and would haves loved to have made it 2 nights. The hotel experience was a big part of it - very special place. The AC was struggling a little with the heat, but we were comfortable."
