"We enjoyed the island, it was beautiful. The food was good and plentiful but got fed the same things over and over. We knew what to expect from a homestay but we found that there was nothing to do except snorkle without paying for activity fees. So bring lots of cash! We expected to be asked for school donation and we did, but was not ok with being asked for donating to their family directly. We felt that paying for the homestay fee and for the activities was sufficient. But it was uncomfortable to be constantly told how much money they needed (this was just one individual doing this) Most everyone else was lovely. So try it out but be aware. Oh... and there was no kava ceremony or cultural activities unless you request and pay. "

"Barefoot Manta is a wonderful, small resort on beautiful Drawaqa Island. The staff are wonderful, friendly, and make you feel at home. The bures (and from what I heard, the dorms too) are clean and comfortable - being able to walk out straight to the beach is a joy! The food is great with lots of veggie options, and the bar makes some tasty cocktails. The reason I chose Barefoot Manta was both for swimming with the Manta rays, and for the Marine Science centre. Swimming with the rays is amazing! And I really enjoyed the talks at the science centre. Also, the reef at Barefoot Manta is probably the healthiest one I've ever seen in my life - the snorkelling is amazing and the diversity in coral and other sea life is really wonderful. I cannot recommend this gem of a place enough, it exceeded my expectations by a lot, and I would very happily return (and for longer) to this amazing spot!"

"Beautiful location and wonderful food, incredibly friendly people with amazing service. Highly recommend this resort and the area, especially for snorkeling and scuba diving. There are TONS of places to do both around there. There is some minor construction going on right now at the beach during low tides, but it didn't impact us that much...definitely one of our favorite places in the Yasawas Islands."

"Hotel was very nice - bungalow right on the beach and very spacious. Hotel provided lots of activities (snorkeling, paddle boarding, blue lagoon visit, etc). However note that not all activities are offered at all times so if you don’t stay a whole week you won’t be able to participate in all the activities they have listed. Also even though an all inclusive - food was limited. All meals were served in a sit down setting and certain times during the day. There were approx. 3-4 options. There is a snack menu offered a la carte, but it’s only full meal options and not really snacks. It would be nice if they offered chips, fruit salad plate, etc that’s just a snack between meals. "

"Great location for relaxing and access to good snorkelling. Friendly welcome with family feel vibe from the helpful staff. Good flexibility around activities on offer. Lovely room presentation on arrival. Nice food and good value for money. Good discount on return travel to the mainland via the 'Seabus'. The only weak aspect was our shower leaked hot water so the shower wasn't running as warm as it should."
