Tybreeza A | Apartment, Shared Pool, Near Beach!

Tybreeza A is a 2 bedroom apartment in a historic Tybee cottage located just one and a half blocks from the beach! The cottage is within walking distance to restaurants, shopping, the pier and more.

Enjoy comfortable and cozy living space with full amenities such as a big-screen TV, sleeper sofa in the living room and private entrance. There are 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The first has a King bed and TV with cable. The guest bedroom has a single bed with a trundle. There is a washer and dryer in the unit. The upstairs owners are happy to share the private pool and patio area in the backyard. Guests are welcome to use the gas grill.

This property is ideal for small families or couples looking for a laid-back getaway off the beaten track with an easy walk to the beach. There is no land line phone available. Handicap friendly (ground level unit, not ADA compliant). Parking available for 1 vehicle.

Please Note: Tybreeza A occupies part of the ground level of this cottage. There is a 1 bedroom apartment next door, Tybreeza B. Given the age of the building you may be able to hear some sound if the other apartment is occupied during your stay.

Tybreeza A feels like a step back in time. Like she's supposed to be there, right where she sits. Absolutely beautiful! If you're looking for a cookie cutter condo, this is not the property for you. If you appreciate historically significant hardscapes, and well planned landscapes, you'll fall in love just like I did!

Great for a Short Visit

This condo was great for our short weekend getaway! The common areas were large and comfy, the bedrooms were just okay though. The bedroom for the kids with the trundle bed had the attached bathroom AND a door to the outside which I didn’t love. The other bedroom with the king bed did not have a bathroom attached and also had no windows. The pool area was really nice with the trees and flowers. I would say that the condo is showing some general wear and tear from age, use, and proximity to the ocean and could use a little refreshing.There is close beach access if you walk straight down 13th street (maybe a five minute walk) but there is no public restrooms at this access point, just as something to note. I have 1.5 actual complaints about this property—the door lock is what I would describe as “tricky” at best. We arrived after driving for four hours at like 11pm and just wanted to get in and go to bed. Tybreeza A is not clearly labeled (the other door had a hard to see B when we looked closely) and because the door would NOT open we were half convinced we were trying to open the wrong condo. After trying the code approximately ten times with the door not opening, I called the after hours number and then after trying one more time, we were able to get the door to open. Upon closer inspection the next day, we noticed that the locking mechanism wasn’t sliding all the way into the door and catching even when unlocked. It was very frustrating every time we returned to the condo.

Great location

This place was not on beach but easy walk to it. When we arrived the first impression was not good due to the mildew smell but I had some lysol spray that made it better. The next day we woke up to people doing construction on the house, which was real loud and disappointing but if you get it when they’re not doing Construction, it’s a pretty good place. The pool was nice too.

So Close to Beach and Short Walk to Everything else!

We had so much fun staying in the A part of Tybreeza!! The pool area is nice and feels like you’re tucked away in your own garden. The beach is so close you can smell the ocean. And we walked to breakfast every morning and dinner each evening. We rented bikes to explore the rest of the island during the day. It was such a fun week, we will be back soon.

Perfect location

We loved our stay—your two blocks from beach, a grocery store, and restaurants, so everything you need you could walk to easily. The owners are very friendly and the pool was great for the kids. We would stay here again!

Great Location. Could of Been Cleaner

Great Location, just down the street from the beach. Easy to walk to the beach. Nice open kitchen, great for families. There's a shower outside to wash off all the sand. There's a roll away bed up under the yellow daybed. Some of the furniture could use updating. Like the chest in the bathroom. The place could have been cleaner. The floors were filthy and not just with typical sand. There was dirt and crud built up on the floor in front of the bathroom shower. The buttons on the coffee pot were gross. The outside of the fridge was rusty (the inside was clean). The washing machine was dirty. For the price I just expected it to be clean.

Great location and amenities

2 adults, 2 teens. Location was great. Easily walked to the beach. It was great having a pool almost to ourselves, only shared with a few others. Kitchen had everything we needed for basic breakfasts and lunches. Parking was very easy, right next to entrance. Would definitely stay again. Highly recommend

Great location. Clean property.

Great location, clean property. Wish we had stayed longer as the pool area was very nice. Wish there had been a door or a privacy curtain over the larger bedrooms small hallway (bathroom was detached) and the shower water pressure wasn’t amazing. There were a few other minor cosmetic issues with unit but it was fully functional. Good sleep and quiet neighborhood. Short walk to beach. Would stay again.

A wonderful place to stay!

We stayed here for a week this summer. Our family is from the area and it’s always nice to visit. The swimming pool and location set this property apart from other beach rentals. We could easily walk to local restaurants and shops as well at the Tybee Pavilion and the beach. The apartment was clean, well kept and the decor was cute. The owners Linda and Carroll live upstairs. They were very helpful and enjoyable to visit with. Thank you for a wonderful stay! We will return next year for sure!

Spacious and convenient

It was nice but there were a few small quirks such as hearing the owners above you (through the ceiling/walls) walking around and talking, water bugs/spiders, old smell that might be contributed from dust and the air conditioning unit. Might be in need of a better cleaning service. Beds were comfortable, nice pool (but it should be labeled for deepness), loved having 2 bathrooms.

Tybee Time!

We enjoyed our time here! This house has some neat history behind it if you get to talk with the owners, they will fill you in. It is managed by Tybee Vacation Rentals so that was different than our usual Vrbo stays where we communicate with owners. Overall we had to give the house and experience 5 stars! The pool was awesome. The walk to the beach is short. Rent a golf cart but rent (before you even arrive) they sell out daily… Go to the inlet for sunsets, visit the North End of the beach as well!

Neighborhood-. Very calm and peaceful.. with some walkers, bike-riders, golf cart traffic and pets strolling by. House- very spacious and quaint at the same time. Multiple seating rather it's the dining area, living room or bedrooms. Laundry area has a very nice machine. Kitchen fully fully equipped with dishwasher. Big sink. Many many dishes. Silverware, cups, bowls, serving trays, cutting boards and many small appliances, nice cupboards stove and refrigerator. Bedrooms very well decorated, and quality bedding. Nice storage and plenty of room if for a weekend or and even longer stay. Place for your clothes and nice size closet Colors are bright and corndiant throughout the house. Pictures and paintings throughout. Books for your reading pleasure. House even has soap, towels, wash cloths etc.

Great Family Trip

Overall we had a wonderful time. Rental is a little shabbier than it appears in the photos but was very clean and had everything we needed. We could definitely cook meals in the kitchen since there were plenty of dishes, pans, etc. We easily walked to the beach and shops. Rental management was very helpful and check in/out was super easy. There was a small problem with one of the bathroom sinks but they came right away and fixed it. We had plenty of space for two teens and two adults. There was not cable, only a few free streaming options but luckily we brought our HDMI cord and used our own accounts from our iPad when we wanted to watch something at night. Our kids enjoyed the pool as well as the beach. If we choose to return to Tybee we would definitely stay here again.

We loved our stay in Tybee Island!

You never know exactly what you're going to get when you rent online but this place was perfect. The location was perfect - easy walk to the beach and close to downtown area for restaurants and shops. The apartment itself was clean and had everything you needed. The owners were very friendly and it was also great to have access to the pool. The only issue I had was the poor water pressure in the master bath. I would definitely book this apartment again for our next trip to Tybee Island.

Best of both worlds

The unit was perfect for our family. We have three kids, two teenagers and an under 10 year old. My mom came as well and it accommodated all of our wants and needs. The private pool was a huge plus, the unit was clean and the patio near the pool offered outdoor options like a fire pit, grill lots of seating. It’s a short walk to the beach and food and we went into Savannah a couple of times. The owners were really friendly. Going to try and make it back again soon.

Perfect location but poor cleanliness

The location of the property was absolutely perfect! Short walk to the beach, off the busy road, private pool, and a beautiful set up. You can tell the building is older and I think it could use a face lift. Unfortunately, we were immediately disappointed once we had access to the room. We were first welcomed with the smell of vomit coming from the master room. We immediately called the property manager who put in a work order. No one came to fix this issue until the next morning which I feel is absolutely disrespectful and unprofessional. There was also food on the floor and curtains in the dining room, dead bugs on the floor, blood on the bathroom wall, dust/ cobweb build up on the baseboards, stains on the bedding and furniture, and food covered in ants on the patio. The cleaning done prior to our arrival was awful and paying what we have to pay for a cleaning fee, it was unacceptable. I will also add that using the TV was very difficult as the WiFi is so poor you could not stream anything (it was a smart tv). This was all very surprising as I learned that the owners live above the property. This place as great potential but it really needs a face lift and better property managing. If you stay, I suggest you make sure everything is cleaned and make the property manager aware immediately if not.
