"Everything associated with our stay was superior. The cleanliness, the arrangements inside the home, the view, the varied wildlife we saw, the local trips we took, the day cruise to Tangier Island, and most importantly, the personal care that the host took to welcome us to celebrate my 80th birthday. I love taking photos and this is an amazing location for that. The Herons, Bluebirds, Eagles, and even a hummingbird seemed to be posing for a photo. And the stars at night over the Chesapeake allowed me to take night photos that I could not have gotten from a less dark place. This is by far the best mini vacation we have taken at a cottage anywhere. And to top it off, the neighnor was very helpful and the locals we met were all very friendly. We strongly recommend this beach cottage!"

"This property is even better than what you see in the pictures. House was perfect for us and our two toddlers. Great place to unwind. My only issue was the bugs but hey… Mother Nature. Our kids preferred this than our house in ocean city. We’re looking forward to return late summer/early fall. The host (Missy) was awesome. Helpful and quick to respond to any questions. "My sister and our spouses and children got away from DC for a long weekend. This place is a piece of paradise. We had six people in our group which is the right size for this house. We were outside almost the entire time, trying to fish/crab off the dock, sitting at the firepit, or going for a row in the numerous kayaks, canoe or paddle boat. Very peaceful neighborhood and we appreciated being able to bring our dog. Would highly recommended. Did not have any issues with the house and good communication with the owners. Well stocked kitchen. Full size W/D. Would love to see a hot tub for future visits. "

"Smith Island was on our bucket list of visits, and for spring break we finally went. Castaway Cottage is great!!!! It is the perfect place to stay, and Smith Island is a great way to get away from work and school and the buzz of life on the mainland, which was our whole point of the trip. We totally recommend this house, it is adorable, it has everything you need, and we took our dog and it is SOOOO pet friendly! Oh my gosh, we didn't want to leave! We are absolutely planning a summer trip and staying at Castaway Cottage. Book Island Belle ferry, the Captain is the best and he is FAST, he gets you there and back way faster than the other ferry and he is awesome! Totally recommend! "

"If you want to relax by the water and getaway from the hustle and bustle, this is the place. The cottage is updated and cozy with amazing views. Just step off the patio onto the sand. Cottage was stocked with essentials and extra goodies to make it feel like home."
