"There is plenty of parking space, and it's easy to find the Lodge. All the expected room facilities are present: good decor, bed, towels and bathroom;, a warm and comfortable space. I couldn't dock a star, especially at the price we paid. Of course, there are things that could be improved! The kettle boiled just enough for the two very small mugs; our (own) teapot took 2 boilings to fill. It would be nice to have more than the bare minimum of cutlery so as not to have to wash forks after dinner in order to eat cheesecake for dessert - and neither breadknife nor scissors are provided, which poses challenges for microwave meals (and a toaster and even just one hob and a pan would be helpful). And the internal soundproofing is very poor - adjacent extractor fans, and passing motorbikes, didn't improve sleep. Thanks for the earplugs, but not everyone sleeps well with those. But as I sad, it's definitely a 5-star place."

"I arrived on a motorcycle with the large carpark to choose from and found a little out of view corner to leave the bike over night and because the hotel appears isolated i wasn't bother about security too much. One enters the hotel through two automatic sliding doors which is a bonus when carrying bags and crash helmets. The first door opens in to a cosy vestibule with seating around a rather modern teardrop shaped lig burner that appears to drip from the ceiling, it would be a wonderful place to sit on cold evening. After signing in by friendly welcoming staff I found my room negotiating my way up the stairs and along the deep pile carpeted corridor to my room. "

"It was an absolute pleasure to stay at Hill Top Farm. Everything was perfect for our family, we range from 1 year old to 66 years old and all our needs were met at this fabulous venue. I honestly can’t say enough good things about it, we would not hesitate to book again."

"Superb hotel. Perfect location at the edges of Cartmel. Decent sized rooms and a big building for the number of rooms so lots of space. Breakfast was really great - lots of choices including some unusual options (e.g courgette fritters) all cooked beautifully."

"The accommodation was very spacious and had everything we needed, eg tea, coffee and milk provided. Bathroom was well equipped with a lovely big shower. The master room was massive and decorated nicely. Overall a great place to stay and in a perfect location as you’re in walking distance to shops, pubs, restaurants and also easy to travel elsewhere via car."

"Hi, I had a spacious room, fab complimentary supplies, nice style of bathroom, plenty of space to put my belongings if I'd had more with me, there would have been plenty of room. Absolutely wonderful staff, went above and beyond and lovely to have the chance to pop downstairs and feel welcomed and safe moreover. I'll be coming back as soon as possible. Thank you "
