Secluded Family Getaway!
Rancho Pajaro is Spanish for Bird Ranch. The property is named for the abundance of beautiful and sometimes rare songbirds found in this secluded canyon located in the Texas Hill Country. This luxury home sits on approximately 22 acres of private property, including private access of the Dry Frio River.
Bed Layout Bedroom 1: King Bedroom 2: King Bedroom 3 (Upstairs): King Bedroom 4 (Upstairs): King, Twin & Trundle Bedroom 5 (Upstairs): 2 Queens
The house encompasses 4300+ sqft of gorgeous living space on two levels. There are 5 bedrooms and 4.5 baths and will sleep 14 people comfortably. It includes a full gourmet kitchen, separate living and dining areas, 5 TVs, a double sided fireplace, and a huge deck off the back of the house overlooking a large grove of native Pecan and Oak trees, so you'll really get that "tree house" experience! There is also an upstairs recreational room that adjoins the bedrooms and is a great area for kids.
Depending on the time of year, you can expect to see birds such as goldfinches, hummingbirds, indigo and painted buntings, orioles, tanagers, blue birds, warblers, chats, fly catchers, cardinals and many others. There are also different types of owls, turkeys, other wildlife, and a small colony of bats that you can see at dusk. June through August boasts a nightly showing of lightening bugs, and in late October, the monarch butterflies often make a spectacular appearance on their journey south to Mexico.
The entire house, surrounding 22 acres and private river access are accessible to all guests. Our river access is on the Dry Frio, a tributary to the main Frio River, and is not accessible to the public, so it is very private and you won't see many other people, if any.
We have Wi-Fi access, satellite TV, Bluetooth enabled receiver for connecting your Pandora or Spotify accounts, and a speaker system throughout the house, and outside on the deck, for listening to your favorite music.

We went as a family for the eclipse. The house was absolutely beautiful, and the pictures really don't do it justice.
The house is fully stocked contrary to what the listing says. The kitchen has every gadget you could possibly need to cook as well as every spice. Linens, towels, soap, toilet paper etc. are also included. There really isn't a starter pack needed with this house.
I called before we went to see what kind of grill is on the property and they told me a charcoal grill instead of propane, I also asked about the towels, toilet paper, etc. but received incorrect information for everything.
Other than the few things the property management didn't have the correct information on, this was a wonderful vacation, and we would definitely return to this house.
