Hideaway amongst Les Cigales
This is a lovely little second floor gîte. Only two rooms plus a bathroom and balcony but everything you will need including a red squirrel, a view of the vines and air conditioning. It is comfortable, well equipped and tastefully decorated. The owners make this clear in their description but it wouldn’t suit people with limited mobility or small children. The tiny hamlet is close to a number of famous wine villages with restaurants ranging from the hearty to the refined. There is much to see within striking distance, the top of Mont Ventoux or the Pope’s Palace at Avignon, for example. The place was spotless and the manager solicitous from the start. She texted to warn us, for example, that the water was off due to an accident and offered to bring us bottles. We were fine as we were wandering around a street market in Orange and it was fixed by the time we got back. One minor plea, can you add an oyster knife please to the well equipped kitchen? I managed with a waiter’s friend but it wasn’t easy.
As I hope is evident, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend staying here.
