"There is a lot to like about this hotel. It is in a great location, with beautiful design, quality amenities (including Aesop toiletries) and an excellent spa and steam room. Unfortunately, the service falls short of the standard the surroundings suggest. At times, the hotel feels as though it is being run by a management team with limited experience in operating a four- or five-star property. A few things stood out: Staff and service: Staff often seemed unsure of their roles, and there was a general lack of warmth and genuine hospitality. Communication: There was little explanation of the hotel’s facilities on arrival, including where to find breakfast or the pool. Complimentary yoga was available, but you would hardly know it from the confusing signage in the lift. Housekeeping: My room had not been serviced by 5:30 pm on one occasion, and I had to call to request it. The receptionist was rude and made me feel as though asking for this basic service was unreasonable. Bar service: Staff at the bar made guests feel like unwelcome drop-ins rather than paying customers. Overall, this hotel has a great location, beautiful design and real potential. However, good facilities alone do not make a great hotel. The lack of attentive, welcoming service and effective management lets it down. With better staff training and a stronger service culture, it could be an exceptional property."

"Knowledgeable and helpful staff. The hotel is located in the Plaza del Sol which is conveniently located near the metro and many restaurants and retail stores, We had a room with a small balcony overlooking the plaza which was wonderful for people watching however it was a bit noisy Friday and Saturday nights due to the amount of people gathering in the plaza."

"We stayed at this hotel for a couple of days. The hotel is very central with the Gran Via a few minutes walk away and a Metro station right outside the hotel. We were given an accessible room with a massive bathroom but the accessability bars etc didn't bother us since we were just there for a few days. The breakfast was incredible with a huge selection. Everything was very tasty and fresh and well worth paying extra for. The public areas were kept spotless and the scent being pumped through the reception area is absolutely incredible. We visited the indoor pool and its does the job but nothing spectacular. The only niggle we had was the sound/vibration of the Metro which seems to run right under the hotel as well as the traffic outside. We were on the third floor so maybe its not so bad on the higher floors but the sound was enough to wake you up."

"The property was excellent; in a great location and a main street with lots of activities and restaurants. MOST of the staff was great. The only bad thing was we were supposed to get a 20% discount on food and beverages at the hotel once. When we asked about it, one staff person said that they would send the coupon to our room so we could use it for breakfast the next morning at their restaurant. When we did not get it, we called the front desk, and they told us it was for use in the 'restaurant'. But the breakfast WAS in the restaurant. When I went to breakfast, I found out our travel partners got a coupon AND used it for breakfast. I had to go to the front desk to complain in order to get one. I was told that whoever told me that I could not use it for breakfast was wrong and COULD use it. That was very frustrating and aggravating and I should not have had to demand the coupon. I was only for 8 Euros (about $10) but it was the principle of the matter. The hostess at the restaurant said it would be addressed at a staff meeting but it shouldn't have happened."
