"Booked for a family vacation to the beach in southern Italy and what a surprise. Hotel was up the hill form the beach in a quitter location but still so close to the lively Tropea. Rooms were very clean and parking was easy in a gated lot. Breakfast was perfect on the balcony overlooking the Mediterranean. Would stay here again."

"Very comfortable and well located inn with a sweeping view of Mediterranean. Dominic welcomed my children and I after normal check-in hours which was very much appreciated. Breakfast was a nice selection of juices, pastries, and coffee prepared by Dominic. Covered parking was an unexpected plus. "Thank you for a wonderful and pleasant stay at Villa Il Barone. The location is convenient and private parking is available within the BnB. Breakfast was prepared and delivered to our room every day. The homemade pastries were delicious! The beach and city center are within 5min driving distance from the BnB. Villa Il Barone will be our first choice if we plan to return to Tropea. My only recommendation is to provide an iron in the room or to borrow for a short period. "

"Modern B&B in a converted apartment building. A little difficult to find (other guests staying also had the same problem) as it shows the back entrance on Google maps. Plenty of free, secure parking available once inside. Make sure to notify the property when you are arriving as it is not staffed all the time. Lovely host though. Property is out of town but not a problem if you have a car."
