"What a find! The reviews said that some rooms were a bit tired and the food is good with generous portions. So I thought I’d take a chance. It was good value especially compared to accommodation in Spain, where I had just been. The room was excellent - one of the largest rooms that I’ve stayed in. Food really was superb - really well cooked and generous portions. I was able to park my motorbike in a locked compound which has also has a security camera. The spa had Turkish and Swedish saunas, a small pool and an area to lounge around - great at the end of the day after enjoying the roads. The Portuguese roads!!! Wonderful bends and (in March) very few people on the roads. And great value. What’s not to like? All I can say, is what a find – thoroughly recommended. "

"It's a calm, casual place with class. Good restaurant. But its more a mix of old and modern than the photos makes you believe. Bedrooms and restaurant are in moderne additions, but it works well."

The homemade food they prepared was absolutely fantastic. Thank you so much for the great advice on what to do and see in the Douro Valley it was much appreciated. "Room clean but would benefit from a bathroom update. Commented on noise because election rally went on till late across road from hotel both nights of our stay. Realise we were just unlucky to have this. Staff friendly and also knowledgeable about Port and where to buy it cheaply. Would love to come back overall. "
