Luxury Oceanfront Retreat in Chester close to Mahone Bay, Lunenburg,

"The host was terrific at communication with us. The location was beautiful and very quiet & peaceful. Views were amazing! There were a couple of candy wrappers on the living room floor and the dining room table was very dusty. The patio could have used a sweep as well. Nothing too major, but should be noted, especially at this price point. My biggest complaint was the bed. The bedroom is beautifully decorated and the bed looked amazing. However, Im 5' tall and the bed is extremely high! I was unable to get into it, and spent the night sleeping on the couch. If I was younger and without mobility issues, it mightve been manageable. This is the first time in my 60+ years that I couldn't get into a bed ..... and I've traveled a lot. Very disappointed."

"We didn’t get a good impression when we went to check in as no one was there. We stood there for 15-20 minutes but no one came. We rang the bell and phoned, but still no one answered. Finally, we called and left a message and the owner came from the back to check us in. The staircase to the upstairs (first impression for visitors) was filthy. We get it, people come in with their shoes on, but first impressions mean a lot. The breakfast was okay and we were happy he asked about dietary restrictions when checking in. Parking was really good at the back."

"The cottage was exactly as pictured and a perfect size for the two of us. We thoroughly enjoyed this charming rental and appreciated the prompt communication with the owners. It was easily accessible to downtown shops when we decided to walk. Mahone Bay is a lovely town with several shops nestled next to the water. Highly recommend! A side trip to Peggy's Cove was a highlight!!"

"Beautiful and clean room. Great location. Enormously comfortable bed! I truly loved the space. There were just a few things that prevented me from giving a full 5-stars. The shower ran out of hot water. The passageway to the doors of each cabin are elevated like a boardwalk, which looks very quaint but is a bit problematic because you either have to walk around the long way to get to your vehicle, or step off of the boardwalk, which is about a 4-foot drop (for my cabin, anyway), making it a little difficult to step on/off. If they were to install a small step beside the boardwalk, it would make a huge difference. Privacy is also a bit difficult. The cabins are very close to each other. The wifi info is in a link, which was a little problematic and took a long time to load due to my phone's poor signal. But it's all in all, a great stay."
Oceanfront Cottage on a Quiet Cove Just Outside Lunenburg

"You can't beat the location. Beautiful waterfront property. So peaceful and in 12 min you can be in Lunenburg. In 16 min you can be in Mahone Bay. You get the best of both worlds. Great fire pit and they provided the wood. They left a little nice touch of smores for us. Very large deck to relax on. Access to kayaks. 10 out 10. Would recommend 100%."
