Situated in a prominent and pretty Liberty-style Italian Townhouse on the sunny waterfront of central Varenna, one of the most romantic and beautiful of all Lake Como towns, this property enjoys an envious and highly accessible location.

Guests enter the building through a beautiful ornate doorway and can reach the apartment easily by lift/elevator or communal stairwell.

The property is very bright, modern and tastefully decorated with high ceilings throughout, with an Open Plan layout which features a practical Kitchenette with cooker hob, microwave, fridge and sink, and a Dining table which sits 4 guests comfortably. The Living area is comfortable and offers a Sofa which can be adapted into a double bed sofa bed for additional guests, and a working fireplace makes a pretty feature for a romantic evening in.

French doors lead out onto a beautiful iron balcony which is perfect for enjoying a cup of morning coffee or a glass of wine with company in the evenings. The Lake views from here are uninterrupted, panoramic and are truly breathtaking!

The Master Bedroom is spacious and bright with a Double Bed, modern furnishings and lake views from the window.
The apartment also features a modern tiled Shower room, all the desired sanitary ware as well as a washing machine.

Outside the property guests can pleasantly reach the many amenities and Lakeside attractions on foot.

The early Victorian part of Varenna where the apartment is situated, provides a choice of lake view Cafes, many fine Villas and the famous and historical Castello di Vezio, which is situated on the Varenna hillside and which features frequent Falconry displays and medieval re-enactments during the Summer-Autumn time. The Ferry also operates from here, providing guests with an enjoyable and care-free way of exploring Bellagio, Menaggio and other Lake Como towns.

A picturesque lakeside promenade takes guests along to the romantic medieval quarter of Varenna, which features medieval passageways, cobbled Piazzas and ancient Churches. There are many delightful restaurants and wine bars to enjoy as well as boutique craft shops to enjoy.

As well as the fast and reliable Car and Passenger Ferry service, Varenna also boasts a frequent Train service to cities such as Lecco and Milan- making it an ideal base to explore Lake Como and more of Lombardy!

Loved the pool and views of the lake. Very close to bus stop and ferry stop. The breakfast was fantastic every morning. We had dinner at the on-site restaurant one night and it was amazing. Loved the roof top bar and games.

The view was the best. Close to dock and nice restaurant. Easy location to explore other parts of the lake. View was the best. At night when you shut windows it greatly reduced the noise. We liked being here as we had no car. We loved the elevator. Great communications.

This was a perfect location and "family lake cabin" type feel, with super accommodating hosts. The windows and balcony were amazing. Located steps from the town center & main cafes, but on the water and on a quiet corner, so no issues with noise. The pictures don't do it justice. All the views are breathtaking. While its not luxurious, everything in the apartment is adequate or better. The bed is technically a sofa bed (if you wondered from the pictures), but the mattress is comfortable. Would absolutely stay again!

Great location- didn’t have to climb all those steps around Varenna! Very happy with this! Dirty- clearly had not been cleaned. Years of dust/dander on ceiling fan. Bathroom scum in corners. All in all, would stay somewhere else in the same area.

My best friend and i stayed and this lovely apartment in May of 2016. waking up, sitting, drinking coffee and admiring the breathtaking view. One of the best memories is going home last summer. (i am italian but live over seas) The apartment had everything necessary for a few comfortable nights. The rail station is not far but if you have bad knees or the such hitch a ride. Best location because we go walk downstairs and have a bear and snack, catch the ferry within a few yards and lovely people watching. Thank you so very much for the perfect memory.

The property is clean, but bathroom smells really bad. There is no TV so it gets very boring at night. Windows are not sealed, so the sound of wind doesn’t let you sleep at night. No hot water and no one around to help.

This property is at an ideal location at the Ferry landing in Varenna. It has a great view, but is sparsely decorated and equipped. For the price and location for a family of 4 it is a good bargain, but for two, it is overpriced for the amenities.

September 2017 We thoroughly enjoyed our four nights at Bella Varenna! All of the instructions from getting there, accessing the key, to how to operate things in the apartment were spot on. But, wow, that view from the balcony... you just have to see it to believe it. And the location, absolutely perfect! The apartment was very roomy. The furniture was somewhat sparse, but enough for the two of us. It is a very clean apartment. We had an amazing, relaxing, and fun vacation. There are so many restaurant choices in the small town. Our favorite restaurant was Quatro Pass. It is off the beaten path. There is not much shopping for souvenirs so you have to go to Bellagio for that. We took the ferry over to Bellagio one day, Mennagio the next, and on the last day took a small group 1 hour wooden boat ride then leisurely explored Varenna some more. We would love to go back to Bella Varenna some day. Happy Holiday Homes was great. We had a problem with the clothes washer on the first day. We had a lot of laundry to do since we had been in Italy for almost a week. I was down to the last bit of clean clothes. I was upset that the washer was broken. HHH had a new washer installed while we were site seeing in Bellagio the next day. That is great customer service! Kimberly, UK

July 2016 We really enjoyed our stay at Bella Varenna. The property was as described and shown in the photos - gorgeous view over the lake! The location was excellent - accessible to the ferries and a very pleasant stroll to the older part of town. We ate at 3 restaurants in Varenna and the food was very good at each one. They were all located in the older part of the town along the shore - I'm sorry I cannot remember the names. We loved the gelateria's that offered cushions to sit on the nearby steps! We would absolutely recommend the property, the small comments I have are very minor issues. Thank you so much & enjoy the rest of the summer! Susan, Canada

I had mixed feelings about this apartment. It was a great location with a spectacular view. The apartment was very large but very cheaply furnished. The posted pictures look much better than the actual furnishings. In the kitchen/ dining area and the TV room there are only overhead lights which were very harsh. The bathroom, while clean, could use re-calking in the shower which was moldy. I had to call the office the next day to get the password for the Wi-Fi. It should have been posted in the apartment. The directions for the tv were incorrect and we spent a long time to get tv reception. The light in the stairwell was burned out so it was very dark at night. And this was the most expensive place I stayed on this trip. I felt for the price it should have been furnished with a higher quality of furniture. I would recommend for the location but be aware that its not a great value.

Bella Varenna exceeded our expectations. Your directions were precise and easy to follow. The apartment was larger than expected and very convenient. Of course the view is spectacular. We were only able to be there a short time, but we enjoyed the ferry ride to Bellagio and every meal we had. We especially appreciated the washing machine:)

Thank you so much for the excellent directions to Bella Varenna. We found it very easily and the code box for the key worked very well. Although it was very late and raining when we arrived, today has been fabulous weather. The villa is everything we hoped it would be. The view is amazing, the rooms are large, light and airy and there is nothing that we need that isn't here. It is a beautiful apartment and we are so spoilt to be in Bella Varenna for a week. In fact I don't think a week will be long enough! Once again, thank you.

Thank you for your email. Steve and I miss Italy already, especially the Lake Como area! The communication from your team was excellent. We appreciated all the helpful tips and the directions from the train station. Finding and entering the apartment was extremely easy. The location and views are spectacular! We enjoyed the ease of walking out of the apartment and jumping on the ferry. Based on the photos and descriptions on-line, Bella Varenna was exactly what I expected. I wanted to thank you for the excellent service during our 10-day stay at the apartment, "Bella Varenna." Everything was lovely, and the apartment is well supplied, for the most part. I had called you office a couple of times about the fact that the wifi device had quit working, and I understand that Saturday is a busy day for you. Luckily, the device finally discharged its battery and I was able to re-charge it and turn it back on, Saturday evening. As I had been advised, the memory cleared, so to speak, and the device began working again. I recommend you explain to other Americans (who are not used to wifi "cubes") that this can happen when you keep it plugged in all the time. If you don't keep it plugged in, however, you have to reset each time you turn on your device. So it's not an ideal wifi solution: perhaps you will consider putting in an actual wifi modem/router for the apartment, which most places include with no extra fee anyway. Again, we greatly enjoyed our stay in Varenna, which is completely lovely and charming. We also appreciate the assistance of your staff, both before our arrival, via emails, and during our stay. We thank Danilo for helping with a reservation for lunch one day and also for giving several good suggestions for visiting some places on our own. We are independent travelers, and we do not typically enjoy tours, so having your staff available was pleasant, while not being part of a "package," group, or tour of any kind. Grazie mille for all the good service provided,

We have just arrived back in Australia after our holiday in Italy and would like to thank you for the wonderful accommodation we had at Bella Varenna. The position on Lake Como was beautiful, and the apartment was all we could wish for. We only have a couple of suggestions that would help to make it perfect. On our departure we had to place the keys in the master key box. This proved to be very frustrating as the keys would not fit in the box unless we separated the two keys. Apart from this, we had an amazing time at Bella Varenna - perfect. Thank you.
