"Stunning views and unique location. Large rooms with good heating/AC. Friendly and helpful staff, with well kept common areas. Chromecast feature for entertainment was useful. Only issue was no kettle for hot drinks."

"Hotel Xauen is a gem in the center of Jaén. Come and check this hotel out. From the hotel you see spectacular views of the city of Jaen. This hotel’s bathroom was so clean and well put together that I actually could not leave without taking a picture of it. The staff at Hotel Xauen was courteous and professional. "Really super house which is lovely and remote, where you feel away from everything. The pool is great with fantastic views of endless olive trees. The local village is lovely with delightful restaurants and friendly, welcoming people. Do get the paella recommended on the fridge, it can be delivered if before 7pm, it is amazing!The waterfalls locally are great fun for young kids to play in and swim in the pools, even in August!Eli who looks after the house was really helpful and always on hand to help with any issue while we’re there, also a great source of local information.Really great house, thank you "

"We loved our stay here. It felt “secluded” while only being a 12 minute drive to the nearest large town. The pool was and the beds were comfortable. "

"Lovely hotel and a good location Friendly staff and the areas and room were clean and it was very quiet The room was nice with aircon, the bathroom was spacious and had a lovely overhead shower but with only opaque glass separating it from the room, it may not be the choice with overly private couples….it wasn’t a problem for us but just wanted to put it out there The parking is offsite about a 10 minute walk away which is a public under cover car park but they have a deal that you only pay their rates not the car park rates We did have an issue in that the ticket they gave didn’t work so we ended up having to pay full price to get out of the car park but the hotel refunded us without any problem"

"A wonderful place to stay in an amazing place. The view out our hotel window alone was worth the price - which was very reasonable and breakfast was included! Our interest was a days bike ride on the Via Verde del Aciete and this place proved to be a perfect base for that. The bike rental place that the hotel works with is excellent."

"I picked the Pension because it was close to the town center. Check in was ok—I was there at 1230 and check in wasn’t until 1430. Fair dues, the owner gave me my room right away. The premises and the room seemed tired, worn out, and a bit grubby. Light in the passageway was an issue at night. In the bathroom there was a sulphorous odor. If you kept the bathroom door closed it didn’t get into the bedroom. The shower is small, and it was a bit like having a fight with yourself in a telephone booth. Pretty standard for Europe though. There was a thin sheet between me and the mattress which didn’t fill me with confidence. The biggest issue of all though was the noise. There was some sort of party going till 0400! Very loud. And whoever was next to my room could be heard clanging, bumping, thumping and talking. As I wrote earlier—I chose location over every else. So, I have only myself to blame. Finally, it seemed very expensive for what I got. But it is right in the middle of town. "
