"The staff were nice! But we had to pay 20 euros for sheets and towels as they were not included with the room. This was not stated until after the booking was made. Also the beds were basically just sofas, not very comfortable. Cheap just for a night to sleep but I would not stay there for more than a night."

"A very spacious property both inside and out. Very well equipped, and appearing to be further developed. Very good kitchen, bbq and outside areas and a rather quirky inside layout. Lots of space for families with children. We had an issue at one point and the owners, who are charming people, were very quick to respond and to try and sort things out. The pool, of course, is excellent, particularly as we had extremely hot weather."

"Pros: Location was excellent, right next to the Loire. Very peaceful in a village that has some amenities. We made use of the tabac/bar where the locals were very friendly. Also an excellent bakery and a cafe on the river (only open Thursday to Sunday and book in advance). Good base to explore local chateaux and vinyards. Hôtel Rive Sud

Hôtel Rive Sud

8/10 Good
"Lovely spot, staff excellent, homemade, organic and locally sourced breakfast. Lacked an evening restaurant and options in Chinon in October were a little limited as off season. Great location to explore Chinon wines and Cremant near Saumur. Fontevraud-l’Abbaye was an interesting place to visit."
