The property is in a well elevated position and up a small road but easy to find and greeted by your charming hosts Elisabeth and Pierre. There are shops nearby but not close enough to walk to but that was not a problem for us."

"We have just returned from a 2-week stay at Villa Mierlo with our two teens and were really sad to leave. It's a lovely house in a quiet hillside location with amazing views from every window (you can see the sea, the Pyranees and Spain) and a good sized pool, which we used to the full. The house is beautifully renovated, with plenty of character, all mod cons and very well equipped (lots of kitchen stuff, sun loungers, an outdoor table tennis table and a Wii with all the games). The provision of a fan in the bedroom was a very welcome addition for the hot nights. It's in a very quiet location, but convenient for amenities in nearby Ceret and a wealth of walking options. Our only disappointment was that the bat roost that had been in the veranda roof had been blocked up since we were last there - on our last visit we had enjoyed sitting out...

"Nous avons passé une très bonne semaine autour du 1er de l'an dans ce coin magnifique et cette maison très comfortable avec super bain nordique et piscine pour se rafraichir. Très bon acceuil, hotes très sympas. Le cadre est superbe. Nous avons fait des balades dans les environs, très peu fréquentés à cette période, avons même pris un bain à une cascade dans la rivière (certainement beaucoup plus fréquentée en été). Thermes malheureusement fermées, mais le bain nordique a bien compensé."

It was a luxury to stay somewhere that felt like a real home and with a large sitting room. There was just 4 of us but you could comfortably sleep 8 if couples/family in the 4 bedrooms. "We really enjoyed our stay close to Castelnou. Very remote and relaxing. Description very valid, as upper maisonnette bedroom cannot accessed by toddlers or elderly, narrow stairs. Ants and mosquitos were there but not so many. Do not leave food openly in the kitchen over night. Equipment perfect. We loved the plancha! Would highly recommend the Villa!"

The outside of the villa looks a little in need of repair in places but very chic and in keeping with the area. Unfortunately we couldn’t use the pool due to water restrictions but it looked great - also had a few issues with power cuts but they were resolved really quickly by the caretaker and hosts. "La casa es como en las fotos. Muy cómoda y muy agradable. Con muchos detalles que la hacen muy acogedora. Tiene de todo lo que necesitas para una estancia con todo el confort. Cocina equipada, zona exterior para relax y cenador muy coqueto . La casa está a las afueras de Vernet, alejada de ruidos y rodeada de naturaleza y las montañas. Está justo a los pies del Canigó. Y es un punto fantástico de inicio de rutas saliendo a pie desde la casa.Y a la vez muy bien situada para visitar otros pueblos...

"Plenty of space and a well equipped property for our extended family of 24, covering 4 generations. Martin was very helpful in ensuring a ground floor room for my 92 year old mother who can't manage stairs. Everything was satisfactory. The property is an easy walking distance to shops and cafés.
