"There was only one thing in particular and that was their swimming pool. It was empty all except for water standing around the drain. If the wind blew in the right direction it sent an odor towards our balcony. Other than this which I believe is most likely a temporary issue this stay was great! Very, very clean rooms and staff was excellent!"

"This place is a quaint old house with lots of charm. It is updated just enough so you can enjoy it. The hosts have taken a lot of care to ensure guests are comfortable. It's in a great location with a water view and walking distance to Port Orchard with shops and restaurants. We spent every waking moment we weren't sightseeing on the deck with a water view. The bonus for us was the Port Orchard firework show we were able to watch from the deck. Definitely recommend this as a comfortable home base for any Seattle area trip!"

"The Bay Away was the perfect location for our trip to Washington. I spent a lot of time researching things to do and areas to stay before booking this property and I am so glad that I did. Our group of two adult couples and two teenagers had plenty of room to spread out inside and outside the house. The place is so cute and had great views of the Sinclair Inlet and mountains beyond from the deck. The decor put us in a perfect mood for enjoying our vacation. The hosts were super helpful and provided a great guidebook.Most of our group had not been to Washington before, and this property was the perfect launching point for our adventures. A short stroll into town took us to the cute main street of Port Orchard with shops and restaurants. The foot ferry to Bremerton was only a 15 minute walk and it was easy to catch the ferry to Seattle from there.Did I mention location? From Port Orchard it was easy to get to all of the outdoor areas we wanted to see - Olympic National Park, Mount Rainier, Deception Pass, the Pacific Ocean, and towns like Poulsbo, Port Townsend, and Coupeville. We saw so many wild creatures! There were places to see otters, seals, eagles, osprey, herons, pheasant, and quail nearby. If you love tidal pools, make sure to check out Manchester State Park, which was only 15 minutes away.I highly recommend The Bay Away for a relaxing, fun-filled vacation. This was one of the top places we have ever rented."

"Overall, this was a good place to stay. We like the layout with the bedrooms up and down from the common area. A few cleanliness issues like hair in the dishwasher and Floors not well swept and some difficulty finding bedding for the third bed but bathrooms were clean the kitchen was clean except for the dishwasher and no kitchen towels. The back fence for the yard is falling down but the area was still secure for our dogalthough the grass was quite overgrowing. So thanks for the pet area. Steps coming down are quite beautiful but very deep and irregular rises and we had one person in our party who found this very difficult. Also, the upper banister is loose so hanging on to it was difficult for this person. The rosettes on the post came off entirely. We like the piano for one of our party and TV in the main room for another. Would stay here again except for the steps."
