"One of the best places to stay in Fiji. We have been to over 19 islands in Fiji and we keep coming back to Waitatavi. The accommodations and staff are out of this world! The bure is in a spectacular location overlooking the Somosomo Strait with some of the best snorkeling and diving in the world. Your private staff is friendly & helpful. The meals were delicious, healthy and fresh. Enjoy white sand beaches, snorkeling, kayaking, standup paddling, hiking, and fishing all at your fingertips....
"Remote and unique area and experience away from civilisation with only the noises of the nature and wildlife. Super friendly and hospitable family who really take care of you and provide a unique experience. Very convenient and close location for diving the amazing rainbow reef!! "

"This was an amazing place! The staff was unbelievably helpful and friendly and the setting is spectacular and the rooms themselves are comfortable but they need new beds we had a hard time sleeping on the old metal box spring together waking each other up every time we moved
It would be 100% great if they got new beds "
"I really enjoyed my stay at Maravu Taveuni Resort. My bure was beautiful, with the added charm of an outdoor shower, and felt tucked away in the jungle while still offering stunning sunset views over the ocean. The shower had trouble with water pressure and heat with the drought.
The staff made the experience especially memorable. Ima and the front desk team were always warm, welcoming, and helpful. Rafa and Cali were incredible guides. I had a great time on my trips with Rafa to the waterfalls and the Waitavala waterslides, where he taught us so much about the island. I also appreciated that he helped me and another solo traveler split a trip when not enough people had signed up. It meant we still got to enjoy the experience. Cali and Rafa also shared local traditions and knowledge, from basket weaving to identifying fruit trees, and the nightly kava ceremonies with music were such a special way to connect with Fijian culture.
The resort itself feels less “resorty” and more like an authentic island experience, with a strong sense of community and adventure. The staff go above and beyond to help arrange snorkeling, diving, taxis, and guided excursions. The restaurant food was excellent, and they were accommodating of dietary needs.
Maravu is the perfect choice if you want to experience the natural beauty and culture of Taveuni with kind, knowledgeable people to guide you. I left with wonderful memories and would gladly return."
"Our stay here was absolutely amazing. I would have to day the best part of our stay here was the staff, they are the BEST people you will ever meet, at all the places i have stayed I can in all honesty tell you i have never had watery eyes saying goodbye until this trip.
We would not think twice about staying here again,, they make you feel like family ❤️"
"The property is beautiful and the owners are so nice. It is very remote area, so only one option for dining. You can cook I. Your kitchenette, but we were not prepared for the hotel being so far away from the nearest store or restaurant. Plan ahead. Shop on your way there or co tact owners ahead of time to see about arranging for meals. "
Vale Sekoula, Private Villa on the Ocean with Pool and Air Conditioning

"Vale Sakoula is all that the reviews and U-tube videos show. Great location on the water with a nice dock where Robert met us for snorkeling excursions each day. Four nights of bliss in Tavenui!! I see why it stays booked. Robert and Vinna are caring and terrific people. As are Tony & Katie!! Our best stay ever in 30 years."

"What a sparkling gem to find Helen and Peter’s place to end our stay in Fiji. Just perfect for the 2 of us. Its quiet, amazing 180 degree views of the ocean and the islands, beautiful garden with the old gracious mango tree and comfortable bed, and value for money compared to our stays in resorts. Helen arranged for delicious home cooked Fijian meals to be delivered to our door at half of the price of elsewhere You can walk to other cafes and supermarket. Peter bought us home baked bread, coconuts , eggs and milk. Highly recommended would come in a heartbeat. Thankyou so much. "
"Idyllic location on a hill overlooking the ocean with a gorgeous property and bungalow. Knox and Kelera treat their guests like family and are incredibly gracious. They made a lovo dinner for us which was delicious and Knox drove us to all of our day trip destinations filling the driving time with interesting observations about the island and history. One of the nicest vacation stays I have ever experienced. "
