Scenery and Serenity - Delight in your holiday retreat

Are you interested in a peaceful place with fabulous views to retreat to after the bustle of the city? Great location near Esquimalt Lagoon and Royal Bay seaside parks, Pearson College of the Pacific, Royal Roads University, Galloping Goose hiking and biking trail, as well as many shopping opportunities from box stores to quaint neighbourhood bistros. Downtown Victoria is accessible by bus or car in an easy 30 minute drive and the bus stop is a short walk away. Many sports opportunities are available from fishing (lake or ocean), golfing (Royal Colwood and Olympic View Golf Clubs are 5 minutes away, Highland Pacific and Bear Mountain Golf Resort are 15 minutes away), as well as hiking and biking. The community is home to many Canadian sports development centres - tennis, golf, rugby, biking, rowing to name a few.

All the comforts of home are available with a well equipped kitchen with BBQ available, as well as washer and dryer and dishwasher, cable TV and a dedicated study area for any school or work related commitments. Bright sunny rooms with 9 foot ceilings and expansive windows give a marvelous view over the water to Victoria. Please no smoking and no pets in the suite or on the premises.

This was an amazing stay. The apartment was clean and beautiful. It was a nice quiet area, about 25 mins to victoria. it was a great place to explore the island. i only met the owner once, but she seemed very kind and friendly.

The perfect place

This was larger than expected, very clean, with a lot of amenities. communication was great and very friendly. The view was beautiful, we enjoyed watching the hummingbirds in the flowers. We would love to stay here again when we’re visiting the area. And personal touches made us feel very special.

Perfect winter oasis

We had a wonderful stay at the suite. It exceeded our expectations. It was equipped with everything we needed for our extended stay. It was very close to shopping and only minutes away from Victoria. We will be back.

Island Serenity

The attention to detail shows in this comfortable property. Communication is top notch, and the comfort level surpassed any rental property experience...it was like being home. Beautiful

We had the whole lower level of a lovely home in a quiet neighborhood. It had high ceilings and lots of windows with a nice view. Everything about the place was well done, well equipped and very clean. Ruth was a great hostess who had tried to think of everything including a welcome basket filled with treats. Thank you, Ruth.

Best place to stay near Victoria

We booked this a couple of months ago. The location was central and just the right amount of space for the 3 of us. Communication was excellent. Check in couldn't have been easier. We were immediately blown away when we walked in. The suite is very beautiful. All amenities and then some are here. Condiments in the fridge were all considered and more then just basics in the cupboards. We enjoyed our morning coffee outside at the little table. We were greeted by a pair of partridges, hummingbirds and a neighboring dog. The ocean views were spectacular. Ruth and Ron are very generous hosts and have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. We will definitely try to stay here again when we come back to Victoria.

Perfect gem

We had full access to this bright basement suite with a walkout and small patio in Colwood. The view of the ocean, Victoria, and Mount Baker was spectacular! All advertised photos were very accurate! The suite consisted of 2 bedrooms, washroom with shower/tub, living room, and full size kitchen complete with all dishes, pots, bowls, etc. Hostess even left out a bottle of wine, chocolates, coffee pods, and homemade jam for us! Kitchen included several condiments, staples, and spices. It was like stepping into someone’s home complete with towels, blankets, soap, shampoo, dish soap, laundry soap, etc. etc. Truly a gem!

Nice views but not worth the price tag

The property is located in the downstairs part of a lovely house on the mountain. If you arrive at night, be prepared to haul your luggage down wooden stairs into a dark backyard. The place is very clean, well-kept and welcoming once inside. The second bedroom is very small. The mattress in the master bedroom is not great; my hubby ended up sleeping on the couch due to the discomfort. There are no curtains in the living room or kitchen, which accentuates the views but in the morning, the sun blazes in and really heats the place up. There's no air conditioning, and the standing fans do little to cool the place down. It also means that the gardener can see you in your pjs as you are getting your morning coffee, which happened on the second morning. My biggest complaint is the wolf spiders. They seemed to be mostly in the bathroom and living room. We trapped and released at least 5 over our 4 night stay; the last one was on my towel the morning we were checking out. I couldn't wait to leave!
