Welcome to Yurts at Poncha Pass! Sleep beneath the stars with our vaulted domes. Butted up against the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, with public land on two sides, feel free to walk out your door & explore on foot or sit by the pond and take in the peaceful beauty. The Yurts At Poncha Pass are a 15 min drive from Salida Co. allowing you to enjoy the perks of town while also giving you the chance to retreat to the serenity of nature and a dark sky space.
Each yurt is a fully equipped tiny home. Hot shower, flush toilet, queen bed, propane fire place, kitchen and living space gives you all the comforts of home settled in the remote headwaters of the Sanger mountains.
Each yurt has a parking space directly opposite it for guests access. There is a circle past all the yurts for easy turn around if needed. The yurts are located 0.7 miles off the highway on a private dirt road. There is plenty of hiking from the yurt, a pond to enjoy, disk golf, and a communal space with fire table, grill, and wood fired sauna.
Your stay supports sustainable education workshops in the spring and fall and affordable housing for young folks in the winter. If you can’t find the dates you are looking for, check out our other yurts “Scarlet Trumpet” and “The Iris”
