We found a couple of great pastry places across the street from the apartment and one that does exceptionally good Gelato. They make it fresh each day along with many pastries. "Perfect position for centre of Modena. The apartment is very small and well appointed, it has everything needed for a short stay. Bed is comfortable and it is a good place for a good night sleep as it is very quiet. The apartment is reached by a lift which takes you to the third floor then one flight of steep stairs up tp the fourth floor. Wifi was good as it was good to have to TVs. "Our host was gracious and welcoming. He was flexible during our arrival time to meet us. This property met our overnight needs in Modena. I however, missed that it is not air conditioned so therefore in June was quite HOT and uncomfortable when attempting to sleep. There are stand fans to help circulate the air but none of the 4 adults slept comfortably. The windows could be opened but without screens the mosquitoes were attacking.
