"This was an unusual place to stay overnight on our way further South in Spain. The location was accurately given by both Google Maps and Waze. You have to trust them as the approach looks a bit unlikely as you get nearer. May be tricky if arriving in the dark. We were a bit nervous about the entry process using links on our phones but it was all very easy in practice. Just be sure to have mobile signal & power in your battery. Parador de Jaén

Parador de Jaén

10/10 Excellent
"This is an out-of-the-ordinary Spanish parador. To be chosen by those on honeymoon, be it for those just married or those celebrating 50 years. The hotel is adjacent to a formidable castle, open for visitation. And there is a gorgeous hike into the woods, also adjacent to the hotel. Jaen is an interesting town, too. Would like to thank the staff at the hotel for making the extra effort to accommodate our son who at last minute joined us and needed a room. Book early because this hotel is in high demand, and for good reasons, too. We booked this hotel on a Ruta de El Quijote adventure in Spain. This route includes Toledo, Ciudad Real, Banos de la Encina, Jaen, Cordoba and Sevilla."
